WHOOP is seeking a Vice President, Total Rewards to lead the strategy, design, and evolution of our global compensation, equity, incentives, rewards, and benefits programs. As a key member of the People leadership team, you will build a scalable and data-driven Total Rewards function that attracts, motivates, and retains exceptional talent to support WHOOP’s continued growth and global expansion. This leader will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, partnering closely with Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to ensure Total Rewards programs are competitive, equitable, compliant, and aligned with company objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute a global Total Rewards strategy and philosophy that aligns with business objectives, talent priorities, and WHOOP culture.
- Establish and drive a long-term roadmap for compensation, equity, incentives, rewards, and benefits programs that supports organizational growth, international expansion, and evolving workforce needs.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on compensation and rewards matters, leveraging market intelligence, workforce trends, and data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
- Lead the design, governance, and administration of compensation programs, including base salary structures, equity programs, executive compensation, variable pay, sales incentives, and recognition initiatives.
- Partner closely with Finance to support compensation planning, workforce planning, and incentive program design.
- Build scalable systems, processes, analytics, and governance frameworks that improve compensation management and provide actionable insights for leaders across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with applicable compensation regulations, reporting requirements, and governance standards across all geographies where WHOOP operates.
- Support executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and Compensation Committee through the development of compensation recommendations, analyses, and materials.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Total Rewards, Compensation, or related People functions, including experience leading strategy within high-growth organizations.
- Deep expertise across broad-based compensation, equity programs, executive compensation, variable pay, and sales incentive design.
- Experience developing and managing Total Rewards programs for a global workforce across multiple regions and regulatory environments.
- Demonstrated success building and scaling compensation infrastructure, systems, governance models, and operational processes.
- Experience partnering with executive leadership teams, Boards of Directors, and Compensation Committees on compensation strategy and governance.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect Total Rewards strategies to company performance, talent outcomes, and long-term growth objectives.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data and market insights to influence decisions and drive outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and organizational change while building strong partnerships across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.
This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.

At WHOOP, we view total compensation as the combination of base salary, equity, and benefits, with equity serving as a key differentiator that aligns our employees with the long-term success of the company and allows every member of our corporate team to own part of WHOOP and share in the company’s long-term growth and success.
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $200,000 - $300,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.
In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.
These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate’s specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
