Manhattan Strategies is seeking a Senior Associate for Web Development to serve as an experienced and professional web developer leading the design, development and ongoing optimization of client and internal websites, with a focus on performance, scalability and technical quality.

 

This role is intended for an experienced developer who is comfortable owning projects from concept through deployment in a fast-moving, client-driven environment. The Senior Associate for Web Development will collaborate closely with designers, strategists and analytics specialists to translate visual and strategic concepts into high-performing web experiences. Excellent teamwork, collaboration and professionalism are a must to succeed in this role.

 

The Senior Web Developer will also help guide development standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of Manhattan Strategies’ web capabilities.

 

Manhattan Strategies develops primarily on Webflow.

 

The Associate for Web Development serves four core functions:

  • Website Architecture & Development (50%): Lead the design and development of responsive websites across desktop, mobile and tablet using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern CMS platforms. Build scalable, maintainable codebases while translating design systems into high-quality production environments. Experience with Webflow is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Strategy & Performance Optimization (20%): Own site performance, technical SEO, and infrastructure decisions. Implement best practices for site speed, accessibility, structured data and indexability to ensure strong search performance and user experience.
  • Website Maintenance & Troubleshooting (20%): Oversee ongoing maintenance of client and internal sites, including debugging, updates and optimization of existing codebases. Establish documentation and development standards to support long-term maintainability.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration & Mentorship (10%): Work closely with designers, strategists and content teams to deliver integrated digital experiences. Provide technical guidance to junior developers and contribute to improving development workflows and processes.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of professional web development experience
  • Strong expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and responsive development
  • Experience building and deploying sites within modern CMS platforms (Webflow, WordPress or similar)
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO, site architecture and performance optimization
  • Experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and Hotjar
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across multiple environments
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring junior developers or contributing to development standards is a plus

 

Benefits & Compensation:

  • Total compensation range is $75,000 to $92,000 per year, which includes quarterly bonus eligibility, profit share and 401(k) employer match
