Our Purpose
At Xero, we’re here to help you supercharge your business. We do this by automating routine tasks, surfacing actionable insights and connecting businesses with the right data, advisors and apps. When that happens, we’re not only making life better for small business, we’ll be building a stronger economy that can change the world.

Become a core part of Xero's high-velocity digital engine. In this critical role, you won't just design—you'll act as a strategic partner embedded directly within the performance creative team, driving how we guide millions of customers.

You will craft compelling digital experiences that shepherd customers through every stage of their journey, from acquisition to conversion. More importantly, you'll be a key strategist, identifying opportunities to optimize performance and increase customer lifetime value—making this the perfect opportunity to truly make your mark on the business.

Here, data is a tool to augment and test, but you will be here to think, strategize, and create. You'll leverage technology to accelerate execution while owning the creative and strategic vision.

This is a 6 month, fixed-term position.

What you'll do:

  • Design and iterate on modules, pages, and landing pages with a focus on conversion and performance.
  • Produce high-velocity test designs (2–3 A/B test variants per week, 5–10 landing page variants per month).
  • Develop and evolve component libraries, ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Partner with developers on implementation, QA, and accessibility compliance.
  • Encourage accountability across development teams to ensure design system integrity is maintained.
  • Collaborate with analytics, growth, and marketing teams to design experiments and conversion-focused experiences.
  • Support performance optimization efforts (responsive design, load times, image compression).
  • Move fast, adapt workflows, and help shape scalable processes as the pod expands.

Success looks like

  • Conversion rates lifted across key experiments and pages.
  • Improved engagement on redesigned components and journeys.
  • Scalable design workflows and processes in place for future growth.
  • A strong partnership with developers, marketing, and analytics teams.
  • Consistent delivery of high-quality design at speed and scale.

Essential experience

  • 7+ years of UI/web design experience with a strong portfolio of conversion-focused work.
  • Proven success in high-velocity experimentation environments.
  • Experience in growth marketing and CRO-focused design.
  • Strong collaboration with front-end developers and cross-functional teams.
  • Deep proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and performance optimization principles.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Webflow (or similar platforms).
  • An  understanding of animation spec or use of tools like Rive or Lotte.
  • Tech industry experience, especially in SaaS, B2B, or fintech contexts.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools used in CRO testing.

Key competencies

  • Design Craft & Conversion Focus – Skilled in creating performance-led, conversion-optimized designs.
  • System Thinking – Ability to evolve design systems and maintain consistency across experiences.
  • Collaboration & Accountability – Builds strong developer partnerships and ensures design standards are upheld.
  • Agility & Adaptability – Thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and is flexible in approach.
  • Data-Driven Creativity – Balances creative instincts with performance insights.
  • Inclusive Design – Designs with accessibility and usability at the core.
