Role Description:
The Travel + Leisure team is looking for a Staff Writer for the website. This role is a key part of our strategy to report on pillars that serve our readers from aviation and breaking news to cruises and hotels. In this role, you will pitch ideas, report stories, and occasionally update existing stories as they develop and/or become newsworthy.
Role Responsibilities:

Pitching and writing 3-5 daily news and trend stories about the consumer travel space

Make sure stories are optimized with catchy headlines and strong ledes

Find and interview travel industry experts for stories that require additional reporting

Monitor for breaking news and be ready to report them in real-time
Role Requirements:

5+ years writing experience at an online publisher, preferably in the travel space

Personal interest in the travel space and industry

Detail-oriented and deadline-focused

A self-starter who can pivot seamlessly as new initiatives and directives are identified and adjusts processes accordingly

Familiarity with SEO best practices

Proficiency in project management tools like Google Sheets, Airtable, or similar

CMS experience required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
