Develop large-scale distributed systems and high-performance, low-latency software for ad traffic optimization. Apply mathematical algorithms and large-scale data analysis to maximize throughput, improve traffic prioritization, and reduce infrastructure costs. Own the full software development lifecycle, participate in production support and on-call rotations, and collaborate on technical tradeoffs. The role uses Rust, Scala, Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, and cloud deployment tooling in a hybrid Boston or New York City environment.

Leads multiple engineering teams, owning software delivery, SDLC quality, people management, strategic alignment, resource planning, incident governance, and team development. Partners with Product and business stakeholders on prioritization, estimation, communication, execution, and performance metrics. The role requires experience with large-scale, low-latency distributed systems, agile delivery, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure as code, distributed teams, and scalable data technologies.

Design, deploy, administer, and optimize large-scale, highly available Big Data platforms (Kafka, Hadoop/MapR, Aerospike). Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, monitoring, automation, production troubleshooting, and participate in on-call rotations while collaborating with SRE, Infrastructure, Database, and Engineering teams.
