5 NYC tech companies looking for executive leaders right now

In startupland, building strong management is imperative to a company’s success. But unfortunately, great executives don’t grow on trees, and in tech, many managers gain their years of experience in more traditional industries.

If you’re a seasoned executive looking to make a change in 2017, New York tech is calling your name. Here are five companies that are hiring for executive roles right now.

Director of User Experience at DigitalOcean

What they do: Digital Ocean is a cloud-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider built for developers. The company allows dev teams to create, automate and manage infrastructure through API, floating IPs, shared private networking and team accounts.

What you’ll do: In this role, you will oversee product design work and maintain consistent high standards for both visual and user experience design across the product portfolio, including the company website and community platform.

Who they’re looking for: Ideally, you’ll have over 10 years in User Experience, including at least three years of team leadership. You will also have hands on experience designing B2B, SaaS, Open Source and workflow-management products.


 

Design Director at Noom

What they do: Noom is a mobile health company combatting lifestyle-induced pre-chronic and chronic diseases. Noom’s platform pairs artificial intelligence with dedicated human coaches to deliver successful behavior change programs that scale.

What you’ll do: As the Director of Design, you’ll lead Noom’s designers to create an app environment to motivate end users to do things like eat healthy foods, exercise and take medications on time.

Who they’re looking for: Noom is looking for an idea-driven creative thinker who is able to solve problems using design. The ideal candidate has plenty of product experience with a large-scale mobile applications, a strong work ethic and is artistically opinionated.


 

Creative Director at Intersection

What they do: Intersection works with governments, citizens and brands to use technology to improve life in cities around the world.

What you’ll do: This person will be a key member of Intersection’s Marketing leadership team. The Creative Director will manage a team of visual designers and photographers, as well as support Marketing, Product and other internal clients to identify and employ best practices across new digital channels.

Who they’re looking for: Intersection is looking for a highly creative and experienced leader who can create visual assets on all digital and traditional channels, as well as implement a strong design sense towards Intersection’s business needs.

 

Creative Director at SeatGeek

What they do: SeatGeek is a ticket aggregator for sports, theater and concert tickets. The company has one of the largest event ticket search engines on the web.

What you’ll do: This person will manage a creative marketing team at SeatGeek, as well as lead strategy and development of all creative marketing and advertising campaigns for the company.

What they’re looking for: The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of experience in creative, design, copy management or digital advertising roles. This person needs to be passionate, humble, creative, highly interpersonal and able to think strategically.

 

SEO Director at Fareportal

What they do: Fareportal helps its customers get the best deals on travel. As a type of next generation concierge service, the company integrates its front-end mobile apps with traditional travel agencies to help customers book trips.

What you’ll do: The SEO Director will build a team of SEO specialists to drive quality content and increase organic traffic for Fareportal. This person will also assess existing SEO and content strategies and introduce new tactics for improving SEO.

Who they’re looking for: Fareportal is looking for a candidate with 7 years of SEO experience, and ideally over 10 years of e-commerce experience. This person must also be an innovative thinker with the ability to define opportunities and problems, collect and analyze data and make valid conclusions.
