Company culture can make or break an employment experience.

Company values, compensation, work-life balance: It’s not always easy to extract this kind of information in a formal job interviewing process. And yet career development advisors uphold these aspects as the bedrock of sustainable working relationships.

Giving candidates a clear view of company culture from the outside looking in is an art form, and these two New York companies have become masters of it. Built In New York sat down with two companies, Canoe and monday.com, to see how they introduce candidates to their company culture.

What is notable about working at monday.com? What differentiates it from other places you’ve worked?

Monday.com is one of the most collaborative companies I’ve ever worked for. Working across different departments, people are empowered to make decisions and drive their vision forward. There’s a strong culture of not being afraid to fail — which leads to a level of innovation and creativity that I think is unique for a company of monday.com’s size and maturity. I really feel supported here, both by my own manager and team as well as the stakeholders I work with on a daily basis.
