Compass becomes NYC’s newest unicorn

Compass, a technology-driven real estate platform that’s made major waves over the past year, announced it closed a $75 million Series D round, along with a valuation over $1 billion. The round was led by Wellington Management Company LLP, with participating investments from IVP, Thrive Capital, Founders Fund and 406 Ventures. New York subway is offering free ebooks (and Wi-Fi) for your commute

Behalf lands $27M to help small businesses grow

Behalf, a commercial payment startup which specializes in providing small businesses instant point of sale terms at vendors of their choice, announced it raised a $27 million Series C round. The round was led by Viola Growth, an Israel-based venture capital fund that focuses on investing in global companies in their expansion phases. Bluecore Expands Executive Team with Customer Success and Engineering Hires

This week, Bluecore, a customer experience platform designed to simplify data analysis, announced that Aaron Arboleda and Chad Horenfeldt have joined the company’s executive team. This executive team growth comes on the heels of several significant milestones for the fast-growing company and will enable Bluecore to scale to the demands of the more than 200 retail partners it has acquired across the United States and the United Kingdom in just over two years. Helix Sleep raises $7.4M Series A
