Leads Axios Live’s editorial vision, programming, standards, and team development across live events and digital coverage. Connects booking and coverage functions, partners with newsroom, sales, communications, and partnerships, and ensures editorial integrity across scripts, interviews, marketing materials, recaps, and social content. Shapes new formats and revenue opportunities while using AI and emerging tools to improve workflows. Requires strong newsroom judgment, writing and editing expertise, senior guest relationships, and the ability to operate under pressure and travel for major events.

Own and grow a local sales territory by prospecting advertisers, building pipeline, winning new business, expanding accounts, and exceeding revenue targets. Lead the full sales cycle, develop territory strategies, engage senior decision-makers, collaborate cross-functionally on deal execution, and represent Axios in local markets.

Senior Counsel, Commercial will advise Axios revenue, product, sales, marketing, and operations teams; draft and negotiate commercial agreements; manage legal intake and workflows; counsel on privacy, data use, IP, regulatory, and product matters; oversee routine disputes and outside counsel; and provide pragmatic, business-focused guidance to senior leaders. The role requires independent ownership of complex transactions, strong judgment, and comfort using AI-enabled tools.
