Maternity care in the United States is broken. We spend 2x other countries and yet outcomes for moms and babies are poor and the experience for women is often impersonal; overmedicalized and fails to address the true drivers of health. The racial disparities in outcomes are even more alarming--Black women are 3x more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women and here in New York City, Black women are eight times more likely to die. While there is a strong evidence base and broad acceptance of what we need to do to drive change, structural challenges often prevent widespread transformation. Diana Health is a venture backed start-up set up to change the way we deliver maternity care in the United States. We are an outsourced maternity care solution for hospitals building a network of women’s health practices that provide high-quality, whole-health obstetrical care, education and community support from early pregnancy through early parenthood. Our goal is to deliver better outcomes at a lower cost through an experience that leaves women and families feeling respected, supported and setup for a strong start to parenthood. Giving birth is about more than just having a healthy baby.
