Teams at Duolingo

Build and operate Duolingo’s Kubernetes-based compute platform across regions and cloud providers. Improve GitOps and deployment pipelines, create reusable self-service platform abstractions, and enhance reliability through SLOs, dashboards, alerts, runbooks, on-call participation, and incident response. The role also requires distributed-systems knowledge, production infrastructure experience, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code expertise, Linux administration, and cross-team communication.

Own and improve Duolingo’s language-learning products from ideation through experimentation, release, analysis, and iteration. Develop learning strategies, conduct qualitative and quantitative research, guide engineers, align cross-functional teams and leadership, and identify opportunities to optimize engaging educational experiences.

Contribute to full-stack software projects by developing, testing, releasing, and maintaining features, services, and infrastructure. Interns will lead individual project deliverables, participate in code reviews, and collaborate across teams to build scalable, high-quality products. The role offers mentorship and opportunities to work on impactful education technology projects, including microservices, platform features, experimentation tools, observability systems, and AI-enabled internal tools.
