The Senior Architect will lead the architecture governance for a mission-critical enterprise platform at the VA, focusing on cloud-native solutions, scalability, interoperability, and modernization efforts while collaborating with various technical teams.

Drive SRE practices for VA enterprise healthcare platforms: automate infrastructure and CI/CD, define SLIs/SLOs, improve observability and reliability, support incident response, and ensure cloud-native, secure, compliant operations in AWS and containerized environments.

Provide hands-on cloud and system administration, monitoring, and 24x7 operational support. Detect, triage, and escalate incidents, coordinate cross-team response, restore services, maintain observability, automate routine tasks, and contribute to post-incident reviews and continuous improvement within a VA mission environment.

Develop, integrate, test, and maintain VistA/healthcare applications using MUMPS/Cache. Support HL7 messaging, APIs, web applications, and work in an Agile Scrum, DevSecOps environment. Collaborate with stakeholders, participate in sprint activities, and ensure accessibility and TRM compliance.

Lead design and implementation of AWS-native, event-driven microservices using Kafka/MSK and WebSockets. Build CI/CD and IaC pipelines (Terraform, Jenkins, Packer), containerize with Docker/Kubernetes, implement observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK), and ensure secure, resilient architectures following DevSecOps and VA standards while mentoring engineers.

Lead DevSecOps engineer responsible for designing and operating CI/CD pipelines, IaC, container orchestration, and observability for an AWS-based, event-driven platform. Implement security best practices, integrate scanning into pipelines, support Kafka/MSK and WebSocket services, drive reliability and scaling, mentor engineers, and establish CI/CD and IaC standards across teams.
