Responsibilities include designing and testing optical navigation and camera systems, operational analysis, camera calibration, image processing, planetary terrain modeling, software architecture, flight software development, verification, risk mitigation, and mission support. The role coordinates multidisciplinary teams, manages multiple projects, mentors engineers, oversees schedules and budgets, and communicates technical results to stakeholders and executives.

Designs and analyzes interplanetary spacecraft trajectories and maneuvers for NASA and commercial missions. Responsibilities include high- and low-thrust optimization, trade studies, Monte Carlo analysis, operational maneuver planning, navigation tool development, visualization, technical reporting, and stakeholder coordination. The engineer supports missions in development and flight operations while collaborating with spacecraft, science, and mission teams.

Develops and validates ground-based and onboard optical navigation systems for lunar and interplanetary missions. Responsibilities include camera calibration, image processing, observation planning, terrain and shape modeling, simulation, flight software development, system verification, technical analysis, and mission partner coordination. The engineer also documents results, troubleshoots technical issues, manages configuration-controlled software, supports project planning, and provides operational support for deep-space missions.
