Provides strategic and tactical legal counsel for a consumer finance business. Advises on product development, marketing, partnerships, third-party management, consumer finance laws, regulatory developments, complaints, compliance reviews, and government examinations. Partners with Compliance, Risk, and business teams to implement legal requirements, improve processes, and manage strategic matters. May oversee legal team members.

Lead independent compliance testing reviews across consumer financial regulations, evaluating control design and effectiveness. Identify control gaps, recommend enhancements, analyze data, prepare testing reports, track remediation, and communicate risks to business partners and senior leadership. The role also supports audits, regulatory examinations, compliance initiatives, and data-driven testing capabilities while partnering across the organization to strengthen compliance risk management.

Provides second-line compliance advisory oversight for personal lending products across the full lifecycle. Responsibilities include assessing regulatory risks and controls, developing policies and procedures, advising business partners, supporting monitoring and testing, managing regulatory changes and compliance issues, preparing risk reporting, and using AI to analyze compliance information. Requires strong knowledge of consumer lending laws, risk management, and banking compliance.
