Provides transactional and general in-house legal counsel for MLB and MiLB commercial and technology activities. Negotiates licensing, sponsorship, marketing, ticketing, software, privacy, security, and other commercial agreements; advises business and operational teams; coordinates with league clubs; and oversees outside counsel. Requires New York Bar admission, strong commercial transactional experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Supports the Business & Technology Legal team with contract preparation, review, negotiation, administration, compliance and asset reviews, legal research, and departmental projects. The coordinator collaborates with internal business units and external partners, reviews NDAs, DPAs, terms of service, EULAs, and marketing materials, maintains contract templates, and handles confidential information.

Senior Counsel will support MLB’s Business Development team by structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial agreements, particularly involving gaming, sports betting, and regulated financial markets. The role provides strategic legal guidance, manages risk, develops templates and playbooks, supports executive decision-making, vets opportunities, and manages outside counsel. The position requires strong corporate, contract, and intellectual property law expertise and is based in New York City with five-day in-office attendance.
