Provides paralegal support to LegalHealth attorneys serving low-income patients through a medical-legal partnership. Duties include client intake, legal document preparation, written and oral translation, advocacy with government agencies for benefits and services, administrative hearing representation, and periodic legal clinic coverage. The role handles high case volume, works directly with diverse clients and hospital partners, and assists with matters involving benefits, housing, employment, immigration, and advance planning.

Work with NYLAG's Bronx Tenants' Rights Unit on affirmative housing litigation and eviction defense. Duties include client interviewing and advocacy, legal research and writing, drafting motions and pleadings, outreach, and participation in calls, meetings, and court appearances under attorney supervision.

Legal intern supporting employment law matters involving discrimination, wage and hour issues, leave, and unemployment insurance. Responsibilities include client intake and interviewing, legal research and writing, drafting demand letters and pleadings, and assisting with ongoing litigation. Applicants must be current law students with strong research, writing, analytical, communication, and presentation skills, plus a commitment to public interest law. Spanish fluency is strongly preferred.

Provide civil legal services through hospital-based clinics as part of a Medical-Legal Partnership. Staff two weekly in-person hospital clinics, handle benefits, housing, employment, immigration, and advance-planning matters, train and consult with medical staff, and fulfill hospital clearance requirements.

Provide immigration-focused paralegal support at a medical-legal partnership: conduct client intakes, assist attorneys with affirmative immigration filings (asylum, family petitions, adjustments, VAWA, naturalization, TPS, U/T visas, Deferred Action), offer language support, and staff an in-person clinic up to three days per week.

Lead NYLAGs immigration policy advocacy: monitor and analyze laws and executive actions, coordinate inter-organizational strategy, develop trainings and public materials, pursue impact litigation and testimony, build coalition partnerships, and support service providers to advance immigrant justice in New York.

Provide direct legal representation and advocacy for low-income clients, focusing on taxi medallion loan restructuring, consumer debt, bankruptcy, real estate, and related litigation. Conduct intakes, legal research, court appearances, outreach, workshops, document drafting, and supervise volunteers while collaborating with supervisors and CPU colleagues.

Support Community Access Programs and the Mobile Legal Help Center by conducting client intakes, maintaining client files, observing and participating in client advocacy, performing legal research and writing, assisting with housing, employment, and immigration matters, and completing other program tasks.

Lead strategy and operations for talent acquisition, optimize recruitment processes and JazzHR usage, build analytics and dashboards in Excel, manage full-cycle hiring including senior and mission-critical roles, train interviewers, run career fair and university partnerships, and lead a recruiting team to deliver data-driven, inclusive hiring.

The Temporary Staff Attorney will provide legal representation and advocacy to survivors of intimate partner violence, focusing on family and matrimonial law within the Orthodox Jewish community. Responsibilities include safety planning, conducting legal screenings, community outreach, and collaborating with partners to enhance access to legal services.

The Immigration Attorney will advocate for LGBTQ+ immigrants facing removal, providing representation in asylum claims, legal screenings, and community outreach efforts.

The Staff Attorney will manage a caseload in Housing Court, engage in negotiations, handle litigation, and participate in community outreach.

Provide supervision and limited direct representation in immigration removal and affirmative USCIS matters, develop case strategies, strengthen intake and screening, support and train staff, conduct outreach and community screenings, track cases and funding-related data, and represent NYLAG to partners and funders.
