Teams at New York Legal Assistance Group

Provide trauma-informed legal representation, safety planning, and advocacy for domestic violence survivors in matrimonial, family, and related immigration matters; appear in NYC Supreme and Family Courts (focus Manhattan); conduct outreach, trainings, screenings, mentor volunteers, manage case files, and assist with grant reporting and coalition work.

Provide immigration-focused paralegal support at a medical-legal partnership: conduct client intakes, assist attorneys with affirmative immigration filings (asylum, family petitions, adjustments, VAWA, naturalization, TPS, U/T visas, Deferred Action), offer language support, and staff an in-person clinic up to three days per week.

Provide civil legal services through hospital-based clinics as part of a Medical-Legal Partnership. Staff two weekly in-person hospital clinics, handle benefits, housing, employment, immigration, and advance-planning matters, train and consult with medical staff, and fulfill hospital clearance requirements.
