Develops wafer-test infrastructure and design-verification experiments for photonic and electronic integrated circuits. Responsibilities include characterizing devices, automating wafer and chip test stations, integrating commercial hardware, analyzing measurement data, collaborating with design teams, and creating custom hardware with CAD and rapid prototyping to support manufacturing.

Designs and develops hardware test boards and platforms for high-speed electro-optical device characterization in R&D and manufacturing environments. Performs laboratory testing, analog design and debugging, test-system development, hardware bring-up, and firmware development for microcontrollers. Supports System-on-Chip optical engine development and interfaces with vendors. Preferred experience includes power supply design, advanced PCB stack-ups, optical instrumentation, automated measurements, and coherent optical communications.

Develop test routines for silicon photonics optical transceivers, create custom hardware and software, automate testing, conduct experiments, analyze data, and draw conclusions. The role is a four-month onsite cooperative position for a student pursuing a degree in electrical engineering, physics, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
