The Children's Home Society of NJ
Founded in 1894, the Children's Home Society of New Jersey supports at-risk infants, children, and families through prevention, early intervention, and support services. Our mission is to protect vulnerable children, strengthen families, and ensure every child has a safe, permanent, and loving home.
CHSofNJ’s work is grounded in a simple but powerful principle: society’s most complex challenges begin, and can be solved, in childhood. By supporting children and families early, we change life trajectories, strengthen communities, and prevent crises before they occur.
In Fiscal Year 2025, we served 68,259 individuals across more than 40 programs. Our core service areas are:
Maternal & Child Health Services;
Early Childhood Education Services;
School-Based Youth Development Services;
Adoption & Birth Parent Services;
Kinship Services;
Clinical and Behavioral Health Services; and
Community Support Services
