We are a well-established and rapidly expanding provider of ABA and special education services serving families throughout New York. Our mission is centered around delivering clinically strong, ethically grounded care while building a stable and sophisticated operational infrastructure behind the scenes. We work closely with families navigating complex insurance landscapes, ensuring children receive consistent, high-quality therapy without unnecessary administrative barriers.

As our caseload continues to grow, so does the complexity of our billing operations — particularly within the out-of-network space. We operate in a high-volume, fast-paced environment where precision, compliance, and revenue integrity are critical. Our leadership team understands that strong clinical services must be supported by strong financial systems, and we are committed to investing in experienced professionals who can strengthen and elevate our revenue cycle processes. This is an organization that values expertise, accountability, and ownership — especially when it comes to managing and optimizing insurance reimbursement.

We are seeking a senior-level ABA Billing Specialist to join our team full-time in our Borough Park, Brooklyn office. This role is central to the financial health of the organization and requires someone who deeply understands the nuances of ABA billing — especially out-of-network reimbursement strategy. Out-of-network billing is not transactional; it requires analysis, persistence, documentation accuracy, strategic follow-up, and a thorough understanding of how to maximize reimbursement when no direct payer contract exists.

This individual will take ownership of the full revenue cycle for ABA services, with a strong focus on complex and high-value OON claims. The right candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating insurance carriers, appeals, authorizations, and reimbursement discrepancies. We are looking for someone who doesn’t simply submit claims, but who understands how to manage AR strategically, reduce revenue leakage, and implement process improvements that directly impact cash flow.

This is a high-responsibility role within a growing organization that values autonomy and results. The position is fully in-office in Borough Park, Brooklyn, with potential flexibility for one remote day per week after onboarding and demonstrated performance.

Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle ABA billing, including claim submission, payment posting, follow-up, and reconciliation
  • Handle out-of-network billing processes, including claim preparation, appeals, negotiation strategies, and documentation compliance
  • Track and aggressively follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims
  • Work closely with clinical and intake teams to ensure proper authorization, coding accuracy, and required documentation
  • Monitor aging reports and implement strategies to reduce AR days
  • Identify trends in denials and proactively implement corrective measures
  • Maintain compliance with payer requirements and evolving insurance regulations
  • Communicate professionally with insurance carriers and internal stakeholders to resolve complex billing issues
  • Assist leadership with reporting related to revenue cycle performance
Qualifications
  • Direct ABA billing experience required
  • Strong out-of-network billing experience required (must understand OON reimbursement strategy and processes)
  • Proven track record managing high-dollar insurance claims and reducing AR
  • Deep understanding of CPT coding, authorizations, and insurance verification for ABA services
  • Experience working with commercial payers common in the NYC market
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of billing outcomes
  • Comfortable working full-time in an in-office environment in Borough Park, Brooklyn
Compensation
  • $100,000 – $140,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
  • Full-time, stable position within a growing ABA organization

This is an opportunity for a seasoned ABA billing professional who understands out-of-network strategy to step into a high-impact role with strong compensation and long-term growth potential.
