We have an immediate opening for an Account Coordinator in our New York office. 

 

The Account Coordinator plays a key role in supporting public relations initiatives and campaigns across a wide range of international and domestic travel clients (hotels, tourism boards, etc.). This position will focus primarily on public relations activities for our clients and will also provide the successful candidate exposure to a broad range of marketing and communications tactics in the exciting world of international travel. Primary duties for the Account Coordinator role include:

Primary Duties may include:

  • Working alongside our talented PR teams supporting on 4-6 client accounts at a given time
  • You'll be identifying trending stories, developing engaging media pitches, building targeted media lists to help our clients reach new audiences and captivate current ones
  • You'll have the opportunity to work with a variety of international and domestic travel clients, and work closely with our team to bring ideas to life
  • Ongoing proactive and reactive media pitching to earn stories about client news and brand initiatives
  • Researching key media contacts to pitch
  • Contribute to all reports, including weekly client updates, meeting agendas / recaps, monthly reporting, etc
  • Clipping client press/influencer hits daily and regularly updating press trackers 
  • Gathering intel on relevant trends, story identification and industry insights
  • Media event assistance, as needed 
  • Other misc requirements as required by team structure and client needs 
  • This role may include some travel, must be able to travel and meet all domestic and international travel requirements

Required Skills:

To fulfill your duties, your skills must include: 

  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts) in communications, journalism, or related field 
  • 1+ years PR/job-related experience in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism or related fields, with direct travel and lifestyle client background preferred 
  • Strong detail and organizational skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at any given time to ensure continued progress across agency work
  • Clear, concise communicator, internally, with clients and outside partners
  • Excellent writing skills, both technical and creative 
  • Strong news writing and reporting proficiency 
  • Demonstrable media pitching skills 
  • Solid understanding of social media and how to utilize it 
  • Have and inspire a sense of urgency among other agency channels whenever necessary
  • Ability to anticipate needs and learn quickly 
  • Sensitive listening skills (from client, supervisor, and media) 
  • Self-motivated and resourceful 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively 
  • Computer proficiency and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google programs; Muck Rack and other PR programs a bonus

Salary for this position: $48,000
