About GrailPay

GrailPay is the risk and data network for B2Bs. We give banks, payment processors, embedded fintech platforms, and lenders a real-time risk and data layer so they can approve more good payments and stop the bad ones before the money moves. Enterprise fintechs, payment companies, and financial institutions  have used GrailPay to cut return rates by more than two-thirds and push auto-approval rates above 95%, even through peak-volume periods. We're a fast-growing, fintech startup in New York building critical payments infrastructure — our sales team is still small, which means the next few hires will shape how GrailPay sells for years to come.

About the role

We're hiring an Account Executive to own full-cycle sales for GrailPay's low-mid-market segment — deals generally in the $15K–$150K range, closing in 1–3 months. You'll work alongside our CRO and the rest of a small, fast-moving sales team to build pipeline, run discovery, and close new logos across fintechs, software platforms, and financial services providers that move money.

This is a hunting role, not a farming one. You don't need to walk in a fintech expert — but you do need to have already proven you can sell: carrying and beating a number, building your own pipeline instead of waiting on leads, and closing deals in a market that doesn't know your product yet. If you've hit or exceeded quota consistently, you've been in the President's Club or top-performer conversation before, and you'd rather build a sales org from the third or fourth seat than the three-hundredth, this is that seat.

What you'll do

•  Build and manage a pipeline through outbound prospecting — cold outreach, LinkedIn, and local events

•  Qualify inbound leads from marketing, routing larger opportunities to the mid-market and enterprise reps as appropriate

•  Own the complete sales cycle for low-to-mid-market accounts ($15K–$150K), from first touch to signed contract, targeting 1–3 month deal cycles

•  Run discovery calls and proofs of concept that connect GrailPay's risk platform to each prospect's specific use case

•  Navigate multi-stakeholder evaluations involving product, engineering, risk, and compliance teams on the buyer side

•  Partner with GrailPay's Product Operations team on technical evaluations and POCs

•  Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene and accurate forecasting

•  Build working knowledge of ACH, wire, and check payment flows and GrailPay's competitive landscape

What we're looking for

Required

•  3+ years in a full-cycle, quota-carrying closing role, with a track record of consistently hitting or exceeding quota

•  Proof you know how to sell — President's Club, top-performer recognition, or similar, with specific numbers to back it up

•  Outbound-first instinct — comfortable building your own pipeline rather than living off inbound or SDR handoffs

•  Experience selling to or working alongside technical buyers (product, engineering, or operations teams)

•  Comfort operating in a fast-paced, early-stage environment where process is still being built

•  Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, Attio, or similar)

Preferred

•  Experience selling payments, risk, compliance, or financial infrastructure products

•  Familiarity with ACH, bank payments, or the broader fintech and banking ecosystem

•  Experience at a startup

•  Working knowledge of APIs and how technical buyers evaluate new platforms

•  Existing network within fintech, banking, or payments technology

Location & schedule

Based in New York, NY, in our office 4–5 days a week. We're a small team that leans on being in the room together, especially at this stage — you should want that too, not just tolerate it.

What we offer

•  Competitive base salary, commission, and equity

•  Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage

•  A workspace people actually like being in, everyday perks, celebrations that mark milestones, team events throughout the year, and the occasional friendly competition to keep things fun. We believe good work happens when people enjoy where — and who — they work with

GrailPay is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
