About Vantage:

At Vantage, we're passionate about building a cloud cost transparency platform that helps enable everyone – from developers to enterprises – analyze, report, collaborate on and optimize their cloud infrastructure costs. Both our CEO (a repeat founder) and CTO are passionate about cloud infrastructure. Having worked together at DigitalOcean, they are taking their combined knowledge to build and scale the Vantage platform. Together we are a high output team of ~50 employees based out of New York City (but embrace a remote-friendly lifestyle).

Our current customers include Square, FanDuel, Barstool Sports, Planetscale, Vercel and Temporal.

Vantage is also well capitalized and backed by outstanding top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Scale Ventures, Matthew Prince (Co-Founder, Cloudflare), Calvin French Owen (Co-Founder, Segment), Ben and Moisey Uretsky (Co-Founders, DigitalOcean), Stephanie and Nat Friedman (CEO, Github), Julia Lipton, Brianne Kimmel and others.

About The Role:
We're looking for our first Accounting Manager to establish and own the accounting function at Vantage. This is a unique opportunity to build the foundation of our financial operations from the ground up. You'll have complete ownership of our accounting operations while working closely with our leadership team to scale our financial infrastructure.

Initially, you will manage and oversee our outsourced accounting partner. Over time, you will transition accounting fully in-house and build the internal infrastructure needed to support audit readiness, compliance, and strategic decision-making.

What You Will Do:
  • Own the full-cycle accounting function including accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and cash management

  • Execute month-end close processes and maintain the general ledger with accuracy and timeliness

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with supporting schedules and reconciliations

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and maintain comprehensive documentation of all accounting policies and procedures

  • Manage and optimize our QuickBooks system and lead the evaluation and implementation of a new ERP system as the company scales

  • Develop and implement scalable accounting processes and internal controls to support company growth

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on revenue recognition, contract review, and subscription billing matters

  • Support financial planning and analysis by providing accurate historical financial data and insights

  • Build the foundation for a finance team by documenting processes and establishing best practices

  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize accounting tools and automation to support scale

What We're Looking For:
  • You have 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years as an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar role with increasing responsibility

  • You have Big 4 public accounting experience in audit, with a strong foundation in GAAP and financial reporting

  • You're extremely detail-oriented with a track record of producing accurate, error-free financial statements

  • You're comfortable being the sole accounting resource and can work independently with minimal oversight

  • You have hands-on experience with the full accounting cycle, including month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation

  • You're proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks experience is a plus) and advanced in Excel/Google Sheets

  • You have strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly around revenue recognition (ASC 606), SaaS metrics, and subscription billing models

  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and can adapt quickly as priorities shift in a growing startup

  • A kind person

Bonus Points:
  • Tax accounting experience or familiarity with corporate tax compliance

  • Experience implementing or managing ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Rillet, or similar)

  • Prior experience at a SaaS, technology, or venture-backed startup

  • You have a CPA license (active or inactive) or are CPA-eligible

Pay & Benefits

The estimated annual US base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $170,000. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and education stipends.

At this time, Vantage is only set up to employ in the United States
