Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic SVP/Vice President of Accounting to help manage the firm’s accounting team with a direct reporting line to the Global Controller. This role will oversee the monthly close process, financial reporting, audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to process improvement in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.

 

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities and investment vehicles.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of GAAP-compliant financial statements, including consolidation and intercompany eliminations.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and resolution of audit findings.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with the deal teams, treasury, and legal to support transaction execution and post-close accounting.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and senior leadership on financial analysis, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
  • Drive finance transformation initiatives, including ERP upgrades and reporting automation.
  • Support regulatory reporting and compliance.
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a team culture of excellence and accountability.

Candidate requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA required.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and audit processes.
  • Experience with investment vehicles, structured credit entities preferred but not required.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and complex close processes.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Primary Location: New York, NY Full Time Salary Range of $140,000-$200,000.

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
