ABOUT US:

New York Edge is the largest provider of after school and summer camp programs in New York City public schools. Each year, programs in academics--including STEM, the arts, sports & wellness, and college access help 40,000 students develop leadership skills and succeed in school.  Working parents count on our programs to provide safe and enriching environments for their children.

SUMMARY:

New York Edge seeks a dynamic, motivated and highly organized individual to fill the role of Program Assistant. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support in the management of the daily operations of Champions Club and Summer Camps. This role reports directly to the Borough Director of Program Operations. 

Pay:

$45-50K (Salary offered will be commensurate with experience and education)

Schedule:

Monday – Friday

9am – 5pm

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administration for S&S and Staples Accounts

    • Create and assign approvers for site accounts

    • Add shipping addresses for each account address

    • Assist Program Managers with approving orders facing technical issues

    • Maintain communication with Sales Representatives for each vendor

  • Manage Food Requests and Orders

    • Direct food orders to the correct approvers

    • Placing orders for Dominos and Panera

    • Communicate with food vendors to receive quotes for food orders

    • Manage communication between vendors and Program Directors for orders when they are experiencing food delays, order changes, or cancellations

  • Assist the Summer Programming Team

    • Participate and contribute to planning meetings

    • Complete tasks assigned by Summer Program Manager

    • Work closely with Program Manager to support summer camp team at program events in an administrative capacity including presence at major events (arts, sports, citywide trips and staff training).

    • Respond to inquiries received from the Summer Hotline.

  • Other Duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrate ability to take initiative, work well under pressure and multi-task in a high demand and fast paced environment

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders

  • High attention to detail, responsible, and flexible demeanor

  • Computer proficiency

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma Required; Bachelor's Degree preferred 

  • At least three years of relevant administrative experience.

  • Excellent written and personal communication skills, including strong grammar and editing skills

  • Excel, Word, Power Point, Google Docs, creating graphs and other presentation documents

  • A goal-oriented focus and a strong commitment to meeting competing deadlines

  • A positive, enthusiastic, and creative approach to problem-solving
