Job Summary
We’re looking for an After Effects Generalist with a strong technical focus to help build, maintain, and scale our motion graphics pipeline. This role is ideal for someone who loves clean systems, reusable setups, and solving complex technical problems inside After Effects. You’ll work closely with 3D artists, motion designers, and product stakeholders to ensure projects are efficient, stable, and scalable across multiple deliverables.
What You’ll Do
- Own and evolve complex After Effects project architectures, template systems, and modular workflows
- Maintain and extend existing AE systems; create new variations based on established setups with minimal supervision
- Build reusable AE components including controller rigs, modular precomps, and parameterized timing/value controls
- Write and maintain expressions to drive automation, consistency, and performance optimization
- Develop scripts and tools (ExtendScript/JavaScript and/or Python) to automate repetitive tasks and improve the motion pipeline
- Composite 3D renders in After Effects, including EXR sequences, mattes/masks, and multipass/AOV-style workflows
- Handle technical finishing: color consistency, pass integration, and predictable results across multiple output variants
- Debug broken comps, troubleshoot edge cases, and keep projects stable amid frequent content changes
- Enforce strong file discipline: clean folder structures, naming conventions, versioning, and reliable handoff packaging
- Communicate technical requirements clearly to 3D teams (required passes/AOVs, mattes, naming, frame ranges)
- Identify and flag pipeline issues early, proposing scalable solutions rather than one-off fixes
What You’ll Bring
- Advanced expertise in Adobe After Effects with a technical, systems-oriented mindset
- Deep experience with expressions, project organization, and performance optimization
- Proven ability to work within—and improve—template-driven or high-volume content pipelines
- Comfort compositing 3D renders inside After Effects and managing multipass workflows
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Clear communicator who can collaborate cross-functionally with designers, engineers, and 3D artists
- Familiarity with Houdini, including basic scene navigation, simple edits, and understanding render passes/AOVs
- Experience supporting high-output or productized motion systems (e.g., templated content, dynamic variants, scaled production)
What You’ll Get In Return
- A dynamic and engaging environment focused on fostering real growth and innovation
- Opportunities to create amazing products that our customers truly love and value
- Comprehensive health insurance packages with dependent coverage
- Competitive salary with ample opportunities for career advancement and development
- Enjoy the flexibility of a fully remote work environment
- 401(k) plan with a 4% employer match to help you plan for the future
- $100 monthly dogfooding stipend to support trying out our products firsthand
- Access to employee wellness programs designed to support your overall well-being
