Our Quantitative Research and Engineering team is focused on building an advanced research platform that supports large volumes of data and harnesses compute at scale to unlock new frontiers in applied AI/ML. Our mandate is not only to produce new strategies across our investment business, but to collaborate cross-functionally to bring our AI/ML expertise to any relevant system, challenge or opportunity across the firm. Lastly, we are incubating ambitious research projects across various domains of machine intelligence to redefine quantitative finance.

Mission Statement

The ideal candidate has experience either advancing the state of the art in machine learning and deep learning, or has displayed an ability to bring advances from AI research to their field of application. We are seeking researchers with a domain of expertise but who have a strong generalist background in quantitative disciplines.

You must display curiosity, creativity and passion and an eagerness to work with others as we are seeking to redefine how quantitative research is conducted in financial sciences. We value professionals who are constantly looking to learn, can perform research independently and own their work, and understand that long-term scientific success will be the result of a team effort.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze large time series datasets to form hypotheses and develop new signals

  • Survey the state of the art in AI through reading circles, conferences, and academic seminars to constantly drive innovation within the group

  • Develop and evaluate novel solutions to challenging forecasting and optimization problems

  • Contribute to a shared research platform with likeminded scientists and join collegial efforts to push the boundaries of AI systems in financial sciences

  • Collaborate with domain experts across the firm to find synergies and identify projects that would drive high impact in the real world

  • Communicate about your research to your peers and cross-functional stakeholders

Required Qualifications
  • BS/MS/Ph.D. in CS/Stats/Math conducting research in machine learning or deep learning, or degrees in quantitative fields (e.g., engineering, physics, biology, medicine, chemistry) with a record as an applied researcher using advanced deep learning techniques

  • Fluency in Python to write research code and collaborate with others on a shared codebase

  • Ability to collaborate with people from diverse technical backgrounds and learn fast from domain experts

  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. candidate with first author publications either in peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ICLR, ICCV, ACL) or in peer-reviewed journals in your field of research

  • First hand experience taking AI models to production

  • Experience with handling experiments involving large datasets: from a data management, computational resources, training time optimization and data quality standpoint

  • Exposure to large scale deep learning models training, or fine-tuning of large foundation models

Benefits

Core Benefits:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents

  • 401(k) with competitive company match to support your financial future
