About Us

Our mission is to raise AGI with the richness of human intelligence — curious, witty, imaginative, and full of unexpected brilliance.

Surge was founded by engineers and researchers who dreamed of building the next generation AI. We're building a platform that powers the most powerful models in the world in partnership with companies like Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, and Meta.

At Surge, we believe the path to AGI isn't just about scaling compute—it's about embracing the unlimited ceiling of human intelligence and creativity in the data that shapes these systems. Our platform combines elite human expertise with cutting-edge tools for scalable oversight, from building rich RL environments to conducting rigorous evaluations that go beyond benchmarks. We've run a profitable business from day one without raising venture funding.

The Role

As an AI Programs Analyst focused on the Finance Domain, you'll lead finance-focused AI initiatives that directly impact our products and customers. You'll leverage your deep understanding of financial concepts — modeling, analysis, accounting standards, risk frameworks — to ensure our AI programs produce expert-level outputs for finance use cases.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong finance foundation who thrives in rapidly scaling, high-ambiguity environments. You should be able to seamlessly pivot between customer calls with financial institutions, hands-on project execution, and strategic conversations about how AI can transform financial workflows.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead finance-domain AI programs — Own delivery of AI training, evaluation, and data projects in areas like financial analysis, equity research, credit assessment, regulatory compliance, and quantitative modeling.

  • Serve as the finance expert — Provide expert-level guidance and design quality frameworks to ensure AI outputs meet the rigor expected by finance professionals.

  • Drive cross-functional execution — Manage multiple simultaneous projects, set timelines, and coordinate across engineering, operations, and customer teams.

  • Bridge finance and AI — Translate domain knowledge into actionable guidance for AI/ML teams while interfacing with financial services clients to scope requirements and deliver value.

What We’re Looking for
  • 2–5 years in finance roles such as investment banking, equity research, FP&A, asset management, risk, audit, or financial consulting. CFA or CPA is a strong plus.

  • Strong analytical skills with comfort in financial modeling, data analysis, and interpreting complex financial statements.

  • Track record of managing complex projects in fast-paced environments with the ability to navigate ambiguity and balance competing priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to influence without authority and communicate financial concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Deep interest in AI systems — direct AI/ML experience valued but not required.
