About Hebbia

The AI platform for investors and bankers that generates alpha and drives upside.

Founded in 2020 by George Sivulka and backed by Peter Thiel and Andreessen Horowitz, Hebbia powers investment decisions for BlackRock, KKR, Carlyle, Centerview, and 40% of the world’s largest asset managers. Our flagship product, Matrix, delivers industry-leading accuracy, speed, and transparency in AI-driven analysis. It is trusted to help manage over $30 trillion in assets globally.

We do not just streamline workflows. We transform how capital is deployed, how risk is managed, and how value is created across markets, and increasingly, how the law firms behind those deals get them done.

About the Role

The finance groups at leading law firms sit at the center of every leveraged buyout, private credit deal, and refinancing our investor clients do. They’re also buried in documents: precedent credit agreements, rounds of lender and sponsor comments, diligence, and closing deliverables.

As an AI Strategist focused on credit, you’ll be the former finance lawyer who walks into a law firm and speaks the practice’s language. You’ll own the relationship with finance partners, practice group leaders, and innovation teams. You’ll show them how Hebbia changes the way they run credit transactions, deploy it across their deal teams, and grow it into a firm-wide standard.

You’ve lived the 2 a.m. markup and the precedent hunt. Now you’ll help fix them.

Responsibilities

  • Win and grow law firm accounts: Partner with our sales team to land finance and credit practices at leading firms, then drive adoption and expansion across partners, associates, and offices.

  • Own the credit transaction use case: Build and deploy Hebbia workflows for the work finance lawyers actually do, including:

    • precedent and market-terms research across a firm’s deal history

    • reviewing and comparing lender and sponsor markups

    • issues lists and covenant / definitions analysis

    • diligence and closing checklists

    • amendments, refinancings, and liability management transactions

  • Be the trusted advisor: Build relationships with finance partners, practice group leaders, knowledge management, and innovation teams. Lead demos, pilots, and trainings that turn skeptics into champions.

  • Prove the ROI: Quantify time saved and quality gained on live deals, and turn wins into case studies that open the next practice group and the next firm.

  • Shape the product: Bring the voice of the finance lawyer to product and engineering. Define what Hebbia needs to become the standard tool for credit transactions.

  • Help build the team: Be an early member of our legal vertical, with the chance to shape how we go to market with law firms and grow the team around you.

Who You Are

  • A JD (or equivalent law degree) from an accredited law school.

  • 2–6 years of experience in a credit-focused transactional practice at a leading law firm. Relevant practices include leveraged and acquisition finance, banking & finance, private credit and direct lending, fund finance, structured finance, restructuring, and debt capital markets.

  • Hands-on experience running credit transactions, including drafting and negotiating credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, and related documents.

  • You understand how law firms work: how partners make decisions, how associates spend their time, and why change is hard to drive in a practice group.

  • Strong communicator, credible in a room of partners, and energized by client-facing, commercial work.

  • Experience with leading LLMs and AI tools. We want to hear what you’ve built, tested, or researched.

  • Strong ownership mindset and a bias toward action in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.

Bonus

  • Experience on both lender-side and sponsor-side deals

  • Knowledge management, legal innovation, or legal tech experience

  • Business development, client relationship, or sales experience

  • Startup or founder experience

Compensation

The combined base + bonus compensation range (OTE) for this role is $200,000 – $250,000, with an 80:20 split between base and performance bonus. This role is also eligible for a competitive equity package with unmatched upside potential. This range is inclusive of several career levels at Hebbia and will be narrowed during the interview process based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Adjustments outside of this range may be considered for candidates whose qualifications significantly differ from those outlined in the job description.
