This position will be responsible for the monitoring of high excess cyber claims and potential cyber claims. In addition, this position may be responsible for the resolution of low complexity and low exposure claims and provide support to other team members as directed. This position collaborates with the claims team and receives assignments from their direct supervisor. This role makes appropriate decisions within own authority and makes thoughtful recommendations when outside authority level.

What you'll be doing:

  • Ability to draft acknowledgment letters in response to new notices.
  • Conducts, coordinates and directs investigation into loss facts and extent of damages.
  • Confirms coverage of claims by reviewing policies and documents submitted in support of claims.
  • Evaluates information on coverage, liability and damages to determine the extent of an insured's exposure.
  • Participates in special projects or assists other team members as requested.
  • Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information.
  • Provides excellent and professional customer service.
  • Sets reserves within authority or makes claim recommendations concerning reserve changes to manager.
  • Reconciles claim payments and investigates unpaid deductible obligations.
  • Prepares claim files for closure and provides other support functions for examiners and managers.
  • Analyzes claim data and prepares claim reports as needed by manager.

What we're looking for:

  • High school degree required. College degree, professional designation and/or related job experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Work collaboratively and as a team player willing to assist within the Unit and Professional Liability Division as needed.
  • Ability to proactively self-manage a high volume caseload.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Suite products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Pay information:

The hourly rate offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. The national average hourly range for the Associate Claims Examiner is $27.84/hr- $38.27/hr with 10% incentive.
