Your team


Become part of the team at BlackRock that helps drive firmwide digital asset strategy. The team partners with business and technology stakeholders across the organization to develop and execute strategic initiatives involving blockchain technology and digital assets. The role also supports investment professionals in evaluating digital asset and blockchain-related investment opportunities while helping shape BlackRock's long-term approach to innovation within capital markets and financial technology.

 

Your role and impact


As an Associate on the Digital Assets team, you will contribute to the development and execution of BlackRock's digital asset strategy globally. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify emerging opportunities, evaluate technologies, support strategic initiatives, and advance innovation across BlackRock's operating platform and investment ecosystem. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, intellectual curiosity, effective communication skills, and the ability to drive execution across a diverse set of stakeholders.

 

Your responsibilities

The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:


  • Help oversee and advance BlackRock's digital asset activities globally, partnering with business and technology teams to analyze, design, and implement digital asset initiatives.
  • Assess, engage, and manage external technology providers across the digital assets ecosystem, driving accountability, execution, and successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
  • Develop expertise across BlackRock's operating platform and the broader capital markets ecosystem to identify opportunities for technological innovation and new product development.
  • Identify commercial opportunities for innovation and articulate the associated economic and strategic rationale.
  • Conduct industry research, market monitoring, and analysis related to blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and digital assets.
  • Develop written and visual content that analyzes key issues, communicates strategic viewpoints, and educates internal and external audiences.
  • Present educational, market, and strategic insights to clients and internal stakeholders.

 

Your experience

 

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate, design, and communicate technology-enabled solutions to complex business challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, influence diverse stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across functions to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional experience or strong demonstrated interest in blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and digital assets.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and a desire to understand emerging technologies and market trends.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a high degree of initiative and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop compelling analytical and educational content.
  • Track record of delivering high-impact work, exercising sound judgment, and demonstrating leadership through academic, professional, or extracurricular achievements.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$105,000.00 - USD$137,500.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
