Associate Engineer (Back End)

The role

As an Associate Desktop Engineer, you will make a real impact by writing clean, reliable code to deliver well-defined features and system improvements that directly align with customer needs. You will solve problems proactively, ensure software systems remain robust, and take ownership of meaningful product outcomes while continuously learning.

Through close collaboration and peer support, you will play an active role in building a positive, inclusive team environment. You will debug code, contribute to code reviews, and help refine engineering processes to drive collective success.

By identifying blockers and communicating with clarity, the team works as one to deliver software safely and efficiently.

Initially, you will focus on

• Developing high-quality software in C# and .NET Framework with guidance from senior engineers

• Designing and running testing activities to assess product quality and mitigate risks

• Debugging code and monitoring system health using logs, alerts, dashboards, and runbooks

• Building desktop user interfaces using WPF, XAML, and relational SQL databases

Here are some of the things we are looking for

• A solid understanding of C# and object-oriented programming principles

• Practical familiarity with the .NET Framework, WPF, XAML, and SQL databases

• Confidence using Git for version control workflows and a clear understanding of basic API concepts

• An eagerness to learn modern software delivery practices like pair programming, unit testing, and continuous improvement

• A strong drive to share ideas, seek feedback, and informally support team members as you grow

The expected base salary range for this role is $109,100 - $136,400 CAD.
