Base Compensation Range: $32.50/hr – $40.63/hr
This is a temporary position that supports Mesa’s Sterilization and Disinfection Control (SDC) division. The SDC division manufactures and sells biological and chemical indicators that assess the effectiveness of sterilization and disinfection processes for pharmaceutical, healthcare, and dental industries.

Job Summary

The Associate Inside Sales Specialist supports the sales organization by selling company products, systems, and services through inbound and outbound telephone and electronic channels. This entry-level professional role focuses on learning sales processes, building foundational product knowledge, and supporting customer acquisition and retention efforts under close supervision. The role partners closely with field sales and internal teams to qualify leads, follow up on opportunities, and help drive revenue within assigned accounts or territories.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Sales Support & Customer Engagement
    • Conduct inbound and outbound sales activities via phone, email, and digital platforms to support customer acquisition and retention.
    • Qualify incoming leads and follow up on marketing- or sales-generated opportunities.
    • Assist with closing straightforward sales transactions in accordance with established pricing and approval guidelines.
    • Support field sales representatives by managing smaller accounts, lead follow-up, and opportunity coordination.

  • Account & Territory Support
    • Maintain relationships with assigned customers to support renewals, repeat business, and upsell opportunities.
    • Help manage a defined set of accounts or a limited territory under guidance from senior sales staff.
    • Route complex opportunities to more senior inside or field sales representatives as appropriate.

  • Product & Process Knowledge
    • Develop working knowledge of company products, systems, services, and basic contract terms.
    • Direct customers to appropriate online resources, documentation, or internal experts as needed.
    • Maintain accurate customer and opportunity data in CRM and other sales systems.

  • Reporting & Collaboration
    • Track sales activities and update forecasts and pipeline information as required.
    • Prepare routine activity reports and support sales metrics tracking.
    • Collaborate with marketing, customer service, and operations teams to ensure a positive customer experience.

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0–2 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or a related commercial role.

 

Knowledge and Skillsets Required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn technical products and articulate basic value propositions.
  • Customer-focused mindset with developing sales and negotiation skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn sales systems and tools.

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting: Often for extended periods at desks or meetings.
  • Standing or walking: Occasionally for meetings or office tasks. 
  • Using computers: Typing and using office equipment. 
  • Lifting: Light, less than 10 pounds. 
  • Repetitive motions: Frequent use of keyboard and mouse. 

Environmental Conditions:

  • Workspace: Climate control (air conditioning or heating) to ensure comfort.
  • Lighting: Adjustable lighting to reduce eye strain.
  • Noise Levels: The noise level is moderate, with occasional interruptions from phone calls and conversations. Use non-canceling headphones if necessary.
  • Ergonomics: Workstations with desk and adjustable chairs to support good postures.
  • Ventilation: Good ventilation to ensure a comfortable working environment, though this can vary depending on the building.
