What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Fund Services Inc. is seeking an Associate, Investor Services in New York, New York to Maintain the share register of the investment fund. Ensure compliance with the fund documentation, anti-money laundering requirements, statutory regulations, and company policies and procedures. Distribute the Offering Memorandum to potential investors. Complete initial Anti-Money Laundering (AML) reviews. Move wires from the transition account to clients’ Prime Brokerage account. Provide investors and their nominees with automated distribution of statements, contract notes, and other documentation ensuring that it is in compliance with service level agreements. Assist in the production of critical MIS and other internal operational reports that assist in the team’s effective operation. Distribute Tax Estimates, Audited Financial Statements, and K-1s. Provide day-to-day Shareholder services to both the Fund Manager and the investors in the fund. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

What you’ll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field. Employer will accept a 3- or 4-year degree. Experience can be gained pre- or post-Bachelor’s degree.

-Requires three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as an Associate, Senior Associate, or a related role in investor services.

-Requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills:

• Subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, and investor reporting;
• Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) Compliance;
• Interpreting investor data and performing reconciliations;
• Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data validation; and
• Reconciliations of the investor accounts between investor services databases.

-Requires one (1) year of experience with the following skills:

• Investor portals, customer relationship management (CRM) tools;
• Transaction and record maintenance;
• Processing investor redemption wires;
• Initiating subscription wire movements to client Prime Brokerage accounts;
• Performing callbacks with investors to confirm wire instructions;
• Processing capital calls and distribution for Private Equity Funds;
• Client and Investor Portal navigation and updates;
• Sending monthly statements and stratum delivery to investors;
• Sending K-1s, tax estimates to investors;
• Reviewing funds offering documents for a launch and setting up the required rules into the system; and
• Collaborating with IT to enhance reports, systems.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $118,000 and $130,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
