Purpose of Position

This role sits within the US Private Wealth Fund Finance & Operations team and supports the oversight and controllership framework across a portfolio of US Private Wealth fund structures, including evergreen vehicles.

Operating within an adviser model where books and records are maintained by third-party administrators, the Associate supports day-to-day controllership execution: reviewing fund administrator deliverables, performing analytical reviews, reconciling valuation outputs, and maintaining documented evidence of oversight. The role provides oversight and challenge — not preparation of the books and records.

The Associate works closely with senior members of the team and will play a meaningful role in building out the Private Wealth operations platform as it scales.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting Support

  • Review NAV packages, financial statements, and capital activity deliverables prepared by third-party administrators.
  • Provide fund-level NAV oversight across the evergreen fund range, including monthly review and sign-off support for administrator-produced NAVs.
  • Recalculate incentive fees and management fees independently and reconcile results to administrator calculations, investigating and resolving differences.
  • Review fund expenses and accruals for accuracy, appropriate allocation, and consistency with governing documents and expense policies.
  • Perform analytical reviews of NAV movements, portfolio changes, expense trends, and fee calculations.
  • Check consistency of reporting with governing documents and applicable accounting standards.
  • Identify discrepancies or unusual movements, escalate appropriately, and track items through to resolution.
  • Maintain documented evidence of oversight, issue logs, and reporting calendars.

Valuation & Reconciliation Support

  • Reconcile valuation outputs to accounting records and investigate differences.
  • Support preparation of materials for governance forums from a financial reporting perspective.
  • Maintain documentation linking valuation conclusions to reported NAV and performance.

Investor Reporting & Stakeholder Support

  • Validate financial and performance data used in investor reporting materials.
  • Prepare summaries of capital activity, liquidity, and portfolio-level metrics.
  • Support responses to investor financial and performance-related queries.
  • Liaise with colleagues across Investments, Legal, Tax, Risk, Compliance, and Operations.

Audit, Control & Platform Build-Out

  • Support annual audit processes, including tracking audit queries, adjustments, and resolution.
  • Maintain structured documentation evidencing adviser-side oversight and support regulatory examinations as needed.
  • Assist with onboarding new fund structures into reporting and valuation workflows.
  • Contribute to process improvements, controls documentation, and scalability initiatives as the team grows.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3–6 years’ experience in fund accounting, fund finance, or audit roles within private markets; exposure to private wealth or evergreen fund structures is beneficial.
  • CPA designation (or active progress toward it) is preferred; public accounting or fund administration background is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP applicable to investment companies and fund structures.
  • Experience working with, or reviewing the output of, third-party fund administrators is desirable.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong analytical and Excel skills with high attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable interacting with stakeholders across functions.
  • Exceptionally well organized — manages multiple fund deadlines, checklists, and issue logs simultaneously without items falling through the cracks.
  • Follows instructions and established procedures precisely; executes direction from senior team members accurately and knows when to ask questions or escalate.
  • Proactive and adaptable — able to operate effectively in a growing platform where processes are still being built.

Expected base salary range:  USD 115,000 – USD 125,000

Actual base salary is determined by a range of factors including individual experience, skills and qualifications.

In addition to the above salary, Pantheon offers a generous employee benefits package, and successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus
