Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

TED is looking for a quick learner to integrate in a fast paced broadcast environment. We are looking for a candidate that is collaborative and ready to learn TED’s style of production. 

The Associate Producer reports to the Supervising Producer on all events and special production team projects as needed. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Support the Supervising Producer and Director of Partnerships Production

    • Assist in pre-production for all events

    • Assist in the development of interstitial programs including research and pitch building

    • Misc. technical support, such as occasional video and audio editing

    • Contribute to special projects as needed, such as remotely filmed TED Talks and virtual events

  • Support the Head of Production with light administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings

 

Conference Onsite

  • Support Head of Production and Supervising Producer

    • Assist in onsite production administrative tasks such as taking notes and updating tracking documents

    • Assist in management of the control room such as monitoring livestream/broadcast feeds

  • Execute interstitials programs and speaker assets such as facilitating last minute legal requests and producing last minute video with editors

  • Know upcoming TED talks inside and out, study scripts and visual presentations as they come in and evolve

  • Manage TEDLive (virtual conference software) metadata

  • Travel 30% of the year

 

Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree

  • 4+ years of production experience

  • Broadcast experience or similar high-pressure experience is a must

  • Inquisitive, analytical, solution-oriented, detail-oriented

  • Excellent writing, communication, and management skills

  • Ability to foster teamwork: Highly collaborative and communicative with internal/external production and other departments within TED

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Understanding of pre-production, production, and post workflows

  • Decision-making skills: able to execute tasks and make intelligent decisions in fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Keynote, and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Proficiency in Final Cut Pro and AirTable is a plus

  • Passionate about TED’s mission, interested in events, video, logistics, content creation with excellence

Additional Information

SALARY: $65,000 - 77,500
