Job Title: Principal

Job Description:

The Infrastructure & Asset Based Credit (IABC) Portfolio Management Principal is an integral part of the team, supporting the Chief Operating Officer of IABC. Given the small size of the team, the Principal will be able to make a meaningful contribution and will gain exposure to senior members of the business.

The Portfolio Management Principal will enhance both quantitative and qualitative skills and will have the unique opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of areas within IABC at Blackstone. The Principal will play an essential role in the team’s work and will have the opportunity to lead strategic initiatives across the business. The Principal will be expected to work on multiple projects at once and will collaborate with colleagues at all levels across businesses, gaining significant exposure to all aspects of Blackstone Credit & Insurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Solving complex problems and executing high priority projects aligned with IABC’s strategic vision

  • Strategic Growth Initiatives:

    • Partner with stakeholders throughout the business to develop and launch new products across different structures and return targets

    • Coordinate with various stakeholders across Portfolio Management, Institutional Client Services, Tax, Legal, FP&A to successfully set up product launches

    • Evaluate IABC’s strategic positioning relative to market

  • Portfolio Management:

    • Management of fund liquidity and tracking of capital inflow / deployment pipeline

    • Work with tax and legal experts to solve complex portfolio management problems

    • Partnering with the Valuations team to track portfolio impact on a quarterly basis

    • Collaborating with the FP&A team to maintain an up-to-date view of the Fund Model

    • Written communication to investors on new deals

    • Preparation for quarterly investor meetings, including presentation and key highlights

  • Business Management:

    • Partnering with key business team members to improve processes, affect organizational change, and drive overall business strategy

    • Preparing ad hoc analysis, presentations and project status reporting to senior management and stakeholders

    • Leading strategic transformation efforts to enhance the operating model (e.g., process re-engineering, service provider support, automation)

    • Designing and implementing initiatives to strengthen IABC’s culture

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7+ years of relevant experience, with investment experience considered a plus

  • Strong technical, analytical, financial modeling, and quantitative skills

  • Comfort working with and analyzing large and disparate data sets

  • Strong technical problem-solving skills along with exceptional interpersonal skills

  • Strong written and oral business communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and an ability to effectively communicate across different stakeholders

  • Organized self-starter with ability to prioritize competing priorities

  • Resourceful problem solver

Expected annual base salary range:

$225,000 - $250,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
