Overview

We are seeking an experienced risk professional to join the BXCI Enterprise Risk team in a senior leadership capacity. The role will focus on identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting key risks across a broad range of investment strategies, products, structures, and platforms. This individual will partner closely with investment teams, portfolio management, finance, legal/compliance, treasury, operations, and senior management to enhance the firm’s enterprise-wide risk framework and provide independent risk oversight across complex investment platforms and financing structures.

The role will be part of a team supporting a broad range of investment and financing strategies, including:

  • CLO debt / equity
  • Corporate bonds
  • Derivatives & hedging
  • Direct lending
  • Equity
  • Fund finance and NAV lending
  • Leveraged Loans
  • LP Interests
  • Opportunistic and distressed investments
  • Portfolio leverage facilities and financing structures
  • Project finance and structured lending
  • Real Estate Debt
  • Structured products and financing solutions

The position is suited for a commercially minded risk leader with strong analytical capabilities, project management experience, and operating effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide independent oversight of non-investment risks across investment and financing platforms.
  • Assess and monitor operational, financing, model, technology, and third-party risks associated with investment platforms and business operations.
  • Partner with and influence business leaders and corporate functions to enhance risk governance, controls, escalation protocols, and enterprise risk reporting.
  • Review new business initiatives, platform expansions, financing structures, operating models, and strategic projects from an enterprise risk perspective.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional projects related to enterprise risk initiatives, governance enhancements, process improvements, and strategic business priorities.
  • Drive project planning, stakeholder coordination, execution tracking, and delivery of key risk management initiatives across multiple teams and functions.
  • Lead risk assessments across key functional areas including operations, treasury, legal, compliance, finance, technology, cybersecurity, and valuation.
  • Shape enterprise risk strategy, governance frameworks, and risk oversight priorities for rapidly growing businesses.
  • Lead thematic reviews and deep dives into areas such as operational resiliency, vendor risk, data governance, model governance, and business continuity.
  • Monitor emerging enterprise risks impacting investment platforms, including market structure changes, regulatory developments, operational complexity, and scaling risks.
  • Prepare risk reporting and presentations for senior management, governance committees, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for material incidents, emerging risks, and governance issues.
  • Manage and develop junior risk professionals and help build the broader risk organization.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in enterprise risk, portfolio risk management, operational risk, or investment risk within an alternative asset manager, bank, insurance company, or institutional investor.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience managing junior team members and leading cross-functional initiatives or projects.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including managing multiple workstreams, coordinate stakeholders, and deliver complex initiatives in dynamic environments.
  • Engage credibly with senior investment professionals and executive leadership.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to synthesize complex issues for senior audiences.
  • High degree of professionalism, sound judgment, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Exposure to enterprise-wide risk governance frameworks within large, multi-strategy investment organizations.
  • Understanding of regulatory and market developments impacting private markets and alternative investment platforms.

Expected annual base salary range:

$200,000 - $250,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
