Position Summary:

The Business Analyst, Data Operations is the primary liaison between the Data Operations team and AffirmedRx’s business-facing teams, particularly Client Management and Patient Care Advocates. Reporting to the Manager, Data Operations. This individual is the first point of contact when a client manager or patient care advocate identifies a file-related or data issue: gathering the details needed to understand it, conducting impact analysis to determine its scope and severity, and keeping every involved party informed of status from the moment an issue is reported through resolution. This role maintains a dashboard or similar tracking tool as the single source of truth on open issues and is expected to communicate proactively — no one should have to ask for a status update. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, since this individual routinely translates between technical data operations work and the business teams who depend on it.

What you will do:

Issue Intake and Triage:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client managers and patient care advocates reporting file-related or data issues
  • Gather all relevant details needed to understand and scope each issue — client, file type, affected dates, impacted records, and related context
  • Accurately log and categorize incoming issues to support tracking, prioritization, and reporting

Impact Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough impact analyses to determine the scope and severity of each issue, including which clients, members, or files are affected
  • Partner with Data Operations team members (ETL Developer/File Management Analyst, Senior Data Operations Engineer, PBM Claims Adjudication Expert) to validate findings and confirm root cause
  • Clearly present impact analysis findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, tailoring the level of detail to the listener

Status Tracking and Proactive Communication:

  • Build and maintain a dashboard or similar tracking tool that reflects the current status of all open issues
  • Provide proactive, regular updates to client managers, patient care advocates, and other stakeholders — especially when work begins on an issue and when it is resolved
  • Ensure no stakeholder is left wondering about the status of an issue they reported

Cross-Functional Liaison:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Data Operations team and Client Management on file-related and data issues
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Data Operations team and Patient Care Advocates on file-related and data issues
  • Build trusted, responsive relationships with both groups to keep communication flowing smoothly in both directions

Documentation and Process Improvement:

  • Maintain clear documentation of issues, analyses, and resolutions for future reference and audit needs
  • Identify recurring issues or themes and flag them to the Manager, Data Operations as candidates for a systemic or process fix
  • Continuously refine intake and tracking processes to reduce friction and confusion for everyone involved

 What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a business analyst or in a similar liaison/analyst role; healthcare or PBM experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate clearly between technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to break down a reported issue and determine its full scope and impact
  • Experience building and maintaining a dashboard or status-tracking tool (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar)
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple open issues and stakeholders at once
  • A proactive communicator by habit — provides status updates before being asked, not after
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with both business teams (Client Management, Patient Care Advocates) and technical teams (Data Operations)
  • Familiarity with PBM eligibility, accumulator, or claims data a plus
  • Mission-driven, humble, and supportive; holds high standards while fostering trust with everyone involved
  • Aligns with AffirmedRx values, promoting trust, accountability, and innovation
  • Willingness to travel (10%-20%)

What you get:

  • To impact industry change in the pharmacy benefits management space, while delivering the highest quality patient outcomes
  • To work in a culture where people thrive because when OUR team thrives, OUR business thrives
  • Competitive compensation, including health, dental, vision and other benefits

Note:

AffirmedRx is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment. Remote employees are expected to maintain a professional work environment free of distractions to ensure optimal performance and collaboration.
