Job Summary

The Business Development Coordinator partners closely with assigned transactional practice groups to support strategic business development and marketing initiatives that advance firmwide growth objectives. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, this role collaborates with attorneys and colleagues across Marketing & Branding, Communications, and Client Development to support pitches, client programs, thought leadership, and market intelligence initiatives. The position requires strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, professional services environment.

Primary Areas of Responsibility

  • Works with both the Business Manager of Business Development and Director of Business Development to contribute to and assist in the development and execution of strategic plans to drive business development.
  • Help to draft initial responses to pitches and proposals.
  • Help to draft, edit and submit ranking and directory submissions (e.g. Chambers, Law360), including data gathering, drafting, and deadline management
  • Works with both  the Manager of Business Development and Director of Business Development to develop practice group website content and marketing collateral.
  • Plans and ensures the successful execution of client development events, such as seminars and webinars.
  • Supports attorneys with client alerts, blogs, podcasts, newsletters, and other thought leadership initiatives.
  • Initiates and analyzes client, market, competitor and industry research to inform business development strategies.
  • Working in collaboration with practice group leadership and the Director of Business Development, develops agendas for meetings and prepares and circulates meeting summaries. Helps to identify and execute the next steps identified during meetings.
  • Maintains group intranet site and repository of relevant business development information.
  • Enters practice group data into various knowledge management systems, including business development tracker, experience manager and InterAction, the firm’s CRM.
  • Supports lateral integration.
  • Assists with running financial queries and reports.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented, professional environment.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with attorneys, staff, and external vendors.
  • High level of attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Comfort learning and using technology platforms and data-driven tools.

 

Education

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Equivalent training and experience may substitute for education.

 

Experience

The position requires a minimum of two (2) years  of increasingly responsible, directly related experience. Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.

Our Firm is committed to fair and equitable compensation practice in accordance with applicable laws. The salary range for this position is $55,800-$81,000.00. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus. The salary for this position may vary based on location, market data, an applicant’s skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.
