Summary
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to be the liaison for the 100+ publishers who participate in our industry-leading ebook marketing services program (Ignition) as well as our a la carte paid marketing service for all formats (Activation).
Reporting to the SVP, Business Development, this role will manage the day-to-day relationship with our publisher partners working across the company including Marketing, Finance, and Operations, and will play a key role in helping to bring in new business.
We are looking for a motivated and service-oriented individual who enjoys wearing many hats and is looking for a new challenge.
Essential Functions
  • Manage onboarding and internal set-up of new Ignition publishers and new titles, working closely with the Digital Operations team
  • Prepare business reviews for all Ignition publishers and conduct reviews for assigned publishers
  • Manage monthly sales reporting to Ignition publishers working closely with Finance
  • Handle queries from Ignition publishers across all areas including marketing, metadata, and sales reporting
  • Regular outreach to publishers to secure promotions through paid marketing service and coordination of these campaigns internally
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
  • 2 – 3 years of book publishing experience minimum (background in distribution, sales, marketing, or operations strongly preferred)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, follow up as needed, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • This position will be a hybrid of remote work and in-office attendance, and at least 2 days a week in the New York City office will be required.
Compensation
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary range will be $60,000.00 – $70,000.00.
