Overview of the Role:
The Business Development Representative (BDR) role is part of our Sales Development Organization — the engine behind new business growth at Salesforce, the #1 AI CRM. We are looking for a motivated BDR to partner with our outbound sales teams, drive pipeline through strategic prospecting, and launch a high-impact sales career at a company leading the agentic era.
*Please note, BDR's hired in McLean, VA will be Public Sector focused, whereas Chicago is Education focused.

Responsibilities:
  • Generate new business pipeline through outbound prospecting and cold calling across existing Salesforce customers and net new logos in an assigned territory
  • Partner with account teams to identify and source pipeline by researching lines of business, personas, and key decision makers
  • Manage and nurture inbound leads and early-stage opportunities driven by outbound efforts
  • Participate in an intensive sales training program designed to build the foundational skills needed for a long-term career in sales

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience with outbound prospecting, cold calling, and account research across a mix of new and existing accounts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage decision makers at multiple levels
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding goals and metrics

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1–2 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field
  • Experience with account planning and working a hybrid list of net-new and existing install accounts
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $50,570 - $67,665 annually There is a different range applicable to specific work locations. In California and New York, and select cities in the metropolitan areas of Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington DC, the base pay range for this role in those locations is $55,640 - $74,490 per year. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
