JOB SUMMARY

LION is a high-growth company focused on delivering innovative fire and safety training solutions to customers across multiple industries. As we continue to scale, we are building a more structured approach to pipeline creation and customer engagement.

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a critical role in this effort by generating and qualifying new sales opportunities through a combination of outbound prospecting and follow-up on marketing-driven initiatives. This role is focused on creating consistent top-of-funnel activity and ensuring Account Managers are engaged with qualified, sales-ready prospects.

This position is ideal for a motivated, high-energy individual who thrives in a performance-driven environment and is comfortable executing structured, high-volume outreach while engaging prospects in meaningful conversations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Outbound Prospecting & Outreach

  • Execute high-volume outbound outreach (calls, emails, and LinkedIn) into defined target segments and account lists
  • Consistently follow structured outreach campaigns to engage new contacts and generate interest
  • Maintain disciplined follow-up to maximize response rates and engagement

Lead Qualification

  • Engage prospects to assess fit, interest, and potential alignment with LION’s solutions
  • Ask targeted questions to understand basic needs, current state, and level of interest
  • Identify and qualify decision-makers and key stakeholders within target accounts

Meeting & Opportunity Support

  • Schedule qualified meetings for Account Managers based on defined criteria
  • Ensure smooth handoff of qualified prospects, including clear notes and relevant context
  • Maintain accuracy and organization within Salesforce to support pipeline visibility

Marketing Collaboration

  • Follow up on marketing-driven leads, campaigns, and outreach initiatives in a timely manner
  • Provide feedback on lead quality, messaging effectiveness, and market response trends
  • Support ongoing efforts to improve conversion from marketing activity to qualified opportunities

Account & Contact Expansion

  • Identify additional contacts within target accounts using tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Expand outreach beyond initial contacts to improve coverage within key organizations
  • Continuously improve contact data quality and account insights

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 1–3 years of professional experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage prospects over phone and email
    • Comfortable with high levels of outbound activity and working toward performance targets
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-up
    • Coachable, competitive, and motivated to improve performance over time
    • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a plus
