The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB), Finance & Business Management group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. 
 
As a Business Manager, Executive Director within the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team, you will acts as thought partners to the M&A group heads in driving business priorities and strategy, and is responsible for the coordination and delivery of all required finance and business support. Strong partnerships with functional support areas are essential, including technology, compliance, human resources, business support management, marketing & events, coverage and product business managers, business control office, legal and finance teams.  An excellent rapport with partners, senior and junior bankers, and senior management is critical to the success of the team. 
 
Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic agenda and deliverables for the M&A leadership and senior Finance and Business management. Gather, synthesize, analyze, and present data and findings to facilitate decision making and business progression
  • Coordinate financial management including: M&A pipeline oversight and projections, forecasts, annual budgets, revenue reconciliation, and expense management
  • Develop presentations to communicate the business strategy, performance, and priorities for both internal and external audiences. Prepare materials for business performance reviews, deal reviews, offsites, external speaking engagements, industry conferences, weekly meetings, etc.
  • Understand industry trends and competition. Analyze data to identify areas of focus relative to our competition and overall market opportunities
  • Monitor reporting, processes, and procedures to lead best practices and ensure an effective control environment and that the business is in compliance with line of business and corporate-wide objectives and policies
  • Establish a strong rapport with functional partners, senior and junior bankers, and senior management
  • Manage process and relationship with Dealogic (external market data vendor) to claim M&A league table credit and ensure accuracy of JPM and competitor vendor reporting

 

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Finance or Business Management, with an advanced understanding of Investment Banking products
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and project management skills, with the ability to synthesize and articulate results to a diverse audience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and processes with frequently changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to manage teams and work collaboratively with team members across lines of business and functional areas
  • Team oriented and flexible, with an ability to take ownership over projects and proactively move them forward.
  • Structuring and building quantitative and qualitative/conceptual analyses. Understanding of business drivers and modeling 
  • Ability to meet with business leads to discuss any issue and articulate a view
  • Creating concise communication materials and presenting findings to senior management

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

  • Familiarity with JPM client systems (e.g. Aqueduct, iBanker, Client Central) and/or external vendors (Dealogic)
