Podium Automation is an early-stage startup reimagining industrial control panel manufacturing through software-enabled design and automated fabrication. We’re building technology to create a new industrial supply chain and reduce lead times for critical electrical equipment from months to days. We are growing rapidly in NYC and are backed by a16z’s American Dynamism fund, SV Angel, and Banter Capital.

As the first business hire at Podium, the Business Operations Lead will work directly with the founders to build systems, processes and insights to drive scalable growth. You'll wear multiple hats across supply chain, procurement, operations, and finance and act as a central function for continuous improvement of our business processes. This is a high-slope / high-ceiling role for the right person and offers an opportunity to solve challenging problems in a collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Supercharge our procurement and supply chain function by managing all sourcing, ordering and purchasing across customer builds

  • Manage our vendor base and form strategic partnerships with suppliers and manufacturers

  • Become a wizard in our ERP and other internal systems and partner with our software team to build out customization that automates scalable internal processes

  • Develop financial models and reporting structures to ensure alignment between what we say we'll do and our end results

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and design and implement solutions that improve outcomes across the business

Who You Are

There are 4 values that all Podium employees are expected to demonstrate:

  • Customer Obsession: We sit on the same side of the table as our customers and build things to solve their biggest problems.

  • High Integrity: We strive to be honest, transparent, and kind. We do the right thing even when it's not the easy or obvious path, and believe that how things get done is just as important as what gets done.

  • Have Grit: We pick up the broom and have a bias for action. We enjoy doing things outside of our comfort zone, and we roll up our sleeves and take on those challenges head-on.

  • Win and Lose as a Team: We work collaboratively and take primary fulfillment from the team’s success. While we certainly celebrate individual achievements, we ultimately win as a team.

Required for this role

  • 2-4 years of experience in business operations, supply chain / procurement, or management consulting (ideally at a hardware company)

  • Experience working in complex supply chains & juggling multiple projects or programs at once while maintaining attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to pick up new concepts quickly

  • Organized, results-driven, and proactive in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Available to work in-person in Brooklyn, NY (in person, 5 days/week)

Additional Information

  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
