The Chain Market Manager is responsible for achieving maximum sales potential in regional and national accounts by meeting or exceeding assigned sales goals and budgeted expenses. This position must uphold the integrity of the company by following its guidelines and meeting its expectations, goals, and mission. In working towards this, the Chain Market Manager accesses company resources, tools, and products and applies them to maximizing sales potential measured by sales and contribution achievements. The ideal candidate will reside in a major Texas city - Austin, San Antonio, Houston, or Dallas.

What we will ask you to do:

  • Lead as the “first chair” on Regional Accounts, both on and off, managing buyer relationships, identifying incremental sell-in opportunity, and pursuing white-space accounts.
  • Act as a liaison between the National Accounts On-and off-premise teams and individual store locations.
  • Ensure pricing compliance and implementation of national planning agreements, while adopting a “planner plus” approach to win additional placements and floor space at the local-level.
  • Ensure compliance and implementation of national agreements, while pushing for incremental sell-in, particularly on accounts with BTG/bottle menu flexibility.
  • Achieve budgeted sales goals for the market.
  • Communicate and recap monthly depletion targets/programming calendars with wholesalers.
  • Work with their direct manager to forecast monthly, quarterly, and yearly depletions.
  • Build a mutually beneficial relationship with the distributor partner.
  • Maximize sales potential measured by budget and by percentage of wines sold in that market.
  • Collaborate with distributor(s) to increase market share by acquiring new accounts, growing sales in existing accounts, and developing key account relationships.
  • Stay alert to trends in the market.
  • Stay active in the wine community through frequent and positive networking with industry peers and key wholesaler personnel.
  • Work with their direct manager to develop and implement specific pricing and programming strategies.
  • Recommend and implement decisions based on results of analysis that enhance the equity of the brands.
  • Recommend and substantiate budgeting needs, sales tactics and strategies, appropriate size of account base, pricing, on/off mix, etc.
  • Advise on the needs for and manages monthly operational and sales budget.
  • Create and manage monthly, quarterly, and yearly distributor incentive programs.
  • Work with distributor(s) to ensure national account program implementation.
  • Work with the distributor to monitor national Duckhorn program periods (i.e., Fast Starts).

What you will need:

  • BA in Business or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of sales experience in wine industry with a luxury brand preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience in the national or regional chain channel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good math skills, good computer skills.
  • Diver and Dynamics 365 knowledge desirable.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Event and/or banquet experience desirable.
  • Must possess a dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of state car registration, insurance, and a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
