Monadical Careers: Chief of Staff

Who We Are

Monadical is a fully remote software consultancy. We’ve built a diverse, friendly team that gets exposed to diverse industries and learning opportunities through our 3-12+ month projects across multiple sectors. Check our portfolio to see what we mean.

We’re growing fast and running some pretty exciting initiatives right now. Think of us as the kind of place where you get to work on multiple fronts of the AI revolution—not just talk about it.

Our goal is to build a team of good people with the knowledge and resources to invest in projects we’re passionate about. The kind of projects that might not get traditional VC funding but could change everything. We give our people the freedom to choose projects they actually enjoy and the power to shape both product decisions and company direction.

We also maintain company principles that guide who we work with and how we maintain our culture. It’s a collaborative effort that any employee can edit through a pull request.

What We’re Looking For

We need a Chief of Staff who will be the trusted right-hand to our CEO and work closely with our CSO and other company leads. This role acts as a force multiplier for leadership—ensuring smooth coordination across departments, driving cross-functional initiatives, and helping translate the company’s vision into action.

We’re looking for someone who’s been in the trenches and knows how to get things done. Maybe you came from consulting, maybe you scaled a startup, maybe you’ve been on the VC side—what matters is that you can hit the ground running and help us turn our momentum into exponential growth.

Our dream candidate looks something like:

  • Computer science background with solid business chops
  • Early employee at a startup that actually went somewhere
  • Consulting experience where you learned to manage projects and people
  • Maybe worked in VC and knows our ecosystem, but wants to get hands-on again
  • The kind of person whose former boss says “they knew what I needed before I did”

What You’ll Actually Do

This isn’t your typical corporate Chief of Staff role. You’ll be working directly alongside our CEO and CSO as their strategic partner, handling the high-impact work that drives our company forward. You’ll be:

Driving Growth - Connect our marketing and sales efforts into actual revenue. Help us close deals and build relationships that matter.

Keeping Things Moving - When our CEO dives deep on something, you’ll be the one making sure nothing else falls through the cracks.

Client Outreach - Think creatively about outreach, make connections, follow up on conversations, schedule calls. Be our strategic extension.

Project Management - Own cross-functional initiatives that span multiple teams, keeping complex projects on track and delivering results.

Executive Communications – Draft outreach emails and follow-ups. You’ll think strategically about who to contact, craft messages that resonate, and act as a smart extension of the CEO’s voice and intent.

Making Travel Count - Help organize packed schedules, brief on context, turn every trip into maximum value.

Special Projects - Lead high-priority initiatives that don’t fit neatly into other roles; the kind of projects that could define our next phase of growth.

Event Magic - From conference and podcast appearances to NYC Tech Week events, help us show up where it matters and make it count.

What We Need From You

The Must-Haves:

  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience at one or more tech companies (e.g., startups, scaleups, or consultancies)
  • Business development or partnership experience, ideally within the US tech sector
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to build lasting relationships
  • Available during EST hours
  • Comfortable with some travel to meet clients and partners

Your Approach:

  • Roll up your sleeves - We’re not looking for someone who just delegates. You do the work.
  • Technical curiosity - You don’t need to code, but you should understand our world and learn fast
  • Startup DNA - You thrive in ambiguity and create structure where none exists
  • Context switching - One minute you’re reviewing a pitch deck, the next you’re planning conference strategy
  • Social intelligence - You can read people, understand motivations, and navigate complex relationships. - You’re proactive spotting issues and opportunities before others do.

What’s Here For You

  • Work directly with our CEO, CSO, and leadership team on high-impact initiatives that actually matter
  • Learning opportunities across services, investing, and product development
  • Real chance to shape the direction of a fast-growing company
  • Real influence on company strategy and decision-making at the executive level

The Perks

Working with us comes with perks that matter:

  • Fully remote work
  • Flexible hours
  • Six weeks paid vacation
  • Competitive salary
  • Flat organizational structure. Your ideas matter, regardless of your title
  • Self-improvement support. Time, funding, and encouragement for talks, side projects, and open-source contributions
  • Autonomy. Shape company direction and choose projects you’re excited about
  • Revenue-sharing bonuses. Senior employees get bonuses based on company performance and tenure

How We Hire

We try to keep this straightforward:

  1. Initial conversation with a lead
  2. Background research and reference checks
  3. Take-home challenge that shows us how you think
  4. Final interview with cofounder and leads
