About Merciv

Merciv has developed EVA (Enterprise Virtual Analyst), an AI platform that transforms unstructured retail data into autonomous business decisions. Our technology helps the world's leading retailers and CPG brands understand their market, optimize operations, and respond to changes in real-time. We're moving from stealth mode to market leadership, launching a three-tier GTM strategy that progresses users from market intelligence (free) to AI automation (team) to full autonomy (enterprise).

Current state:
  • Multiple Fortune 500 enterprise customers

  • Strong distribution partnerships driving majority of revenue

  • Platform managing millions of data points across retail ecosystems

  • Small (Sub-20) team of exceptional AI researchers, engineers, and operators

Where we're going:
  • 50,000+ users on our platform within 12 months

  • $20M+ ARR by end of 2026

  • Category leadership in autonomous retail operations

  • Series A fundraise in next 12 months

The Role

Merciv is at an inflection point. We've built the industry's most advanced autonomous retail intelligence platform, secured enterprise customers generating millions in ARR, and proven that AI can fundamentally transform how retail operates. Now, we're architecting our next chapter: a massive GTM transformation from pure enterprise sales to a product-led growth motion that will democratize access to retail intelligence while accelerating our path to $100M ARR.

We've intentionally stayed under the radar while building something transformative. Our platform already powers retail intelligence for Fortune 500 leaders including Gap Inc. (and their portfolio brands like Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Athleta), Hain Celestial (Terra, Celestial Seasonings, etc.), and Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams, Truly, etc.). Fresh off a $14M Series Seed, we're scaling our team of innovators as we prepare for significant growth in 2025-26.

We're seeking a Chief of Staff to serve as the strategic operator and operational backbone for our executive team (CEO, CPO, and Head of Operations & Strategy). This role combines high-level strategic support with hands-on operational execution, from overseeing marketing workflows to preparing board materials to partnering on our GTM transformation.

What You'll Do Strategic Operations & Planning
  • Build and maintain financial models for planning, fundraising, and strategic decisions

  • Prepare board materials, investor updates, and executive presentations

  • Own company metrics infrastructure and cross-functional KPI reporting

  • Drive quarterly OKRs and monthly business reviews

  • Lead special projects as needed (pricing strategy, competitive analysis, partnerships)

Investor Relations & Board Management
  • Prepare draft board meeting presentations and follow-ups

  • Coordinate investor communications and fundraising support

  • Maintain data room and investor reporting cadence

  • Support due diligence processes and stakeholder management

GTM Support & Execution
  • Partner with Head of Operations & Strategy on PLG transformation

  • Track and optimize funnel metrics across all customer tiers

  • Oversee marketing operations and performance analytics

  • Coordinate product launches and go-to-market initiatives

  • Drive vendor management and budget optimization

Executive & Internal Operations
  • Optimize executive team productivity and decision-making velocity

  • Manage company communications and all-hands meetings

  • Design scalable processes for rapid team growth

  • Handle confidential matters and crisis response

This role is intentionally broad in early stages, with the expectation that as we scale, you'll help hire specialists and narrow your focus to highest-impact areas. The best Chiefs of Staff shape their role around company needs and their strengths, ultimately specializing in 1-2 areas where they can drive exceptional impact.

Core Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience in, growth-stage startups, or equivalent high-performance environment, ideally in a Chief or Staff or relevant Operational role

  • Experience with marketing operations, growth marketing, or marketing analytics strongly preferred

  • Track record of building financial models and preparing investor-grade materials

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously

  • Experience in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or AI/data companies preferred

  • Proven ability to work effectively with C-level executives

CompensationCompensation:

The compensation range for this role is $160,000 - $220,000. Merciv offers a competitive total rewards package which includes base salary, equity, and a comprehensive benefits & perks package. Exact compensation is determined based on a number of factors including experience, skill level, location and qualifications which are assessed during the interview process. Additional details about total compensation and benefits will be provided by our Recruiting Team during the hiring process.

Benefits:
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance

  • $5,000 annual learning & development budget

  • Unlimited PTO policy

  • Latest productivity tools and hardware
