About Atlas
Every day, anyone can look up your home address, phone number, family members, and more. Right now, hundreds of data brokers are selling your personal information for profit—and most operate with little oversight and in defiance of privacy laws.
Atlas is changing that. We’re leading a new era of privacy enforcement in America.
We protect Americans from data exploitation, surveillance capitalism, privacy violations, and other digital abuses. Our team blends deep expertise across law, cybersecurity, consumer tech, computer engineering, and policy.
In the past three years, we’ve built the most advanced consumer privacy platform on the market. It empowers Americans to assert their rights against hundreds of data brokers. And we're leading precedent-setting enforcement actions in court—including prosecuting over 180 lawsuits under New Jersey’s Daniel’s Law on behalf of tens of thousands of judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement officers.
Our work has been covered in Bloomberg Law, Law360, Wired, and more. We’re backed by top-tier investors like Y Combinator and Lightspeed Venture Partners, and we’ve partnered with law firms Boies Schiller Flexner, Bird Marella, PEM Law, and more.
Why Atlas?
Working at Atlas is a rare chance to do mission-driven work that genuinely matters — and matters to everyone. Atlas is one of the few organizations tackling an issue that cuts across the political spectrum: the fundamental right to privacy and safety. Its mission resonates with people of all backgrounds because protecting judges, public servants, and other vulnerable individuals from data exploitation and surveillance capitalism isn’t a partisan stance — it’s a civic one. Atlas is on the front lines, shaping how personal data is handled and defended in an era when these threats are more relevant than ever.
At the same time, Atlas is a fast-growing startup with enormous potential, offering employees the chance to build transformative technology and legal frameworks from the ground up. You won’t just be joining a company — you’ll be helping build a category-defining organization with meaningful impact, massive growth ahead, and real long-term financial upside.
We are a small and nimble team, eager to find others that are excited about our mission. We work hard because we care about what we are doing and know that in today’s environment data privacy matters more than ever. If you thrive in ambiguity, want autonomy, and are ready to fundamentally change how privacy laws are enforced, we want to meet you. Help us make privacy real for every American.
About This Role
Atlas is at a critical inflection point. As our CEO focuses on high-level strategy and national public-sector relationships, we are looking for an Operations Lead to serve as the "Integrator" for the business. You will be the operational counterpart to the CEO—owning the day-to-day operations of the business. This isn't just an administrative role; you will be the engine room of the business. You’ll alternate between building the foundational systems that keep us running (HR, Finance, Legal) and diving into high-priority special projects that drive our growth. You’ll be the connective tissue across product, strategy, operations, legal/compliance, GTM, and people.
Key Responsibilities
Special Projects: Be ready, willing, and able to jump on any projects or challenges that arise. It’s highly likely that you’ll need to tackle things that are not explicitly mentioned in this job description given we’re a small and nimble team. This could be anything from planning an in-person team meeting to developing the launch plan for a new product line.
Strategic Planning: Drive weekly leadership team meetings, track and manage the company’s goals, develop dashboards for tracking key internal metrics, manage company financials, and establish the CEO’s operating cadence. Build and execute upon the company’s strategic and operational plan.
Company Finance & Operations: Own payroll, HRIS administration, vendor onboarding, invoicing/AP, hiring/recruiting and key company knowledge systems. Ensure that the business remains compliant as it scales and has employees and customers across multiple states.
Business Expansion: Lead multi-state rollouts of new privacy programs (e.g., expanding work to protect public officials in additional states), and coordinate across legal, product, operations, and GTM to ensure the launch is successful.
Playbook Development: Define and document repeatable processes that will support Atlas’ rapid growth over the next 18-months. Potential playbooks include case research, customer issue triaging, new customer onboarding, and state launches.
Qualifications
3+ years of work experience across management consulting, investment banking, private equity, legal, or venture capital.
3+ years of work experience in BizOps or Operations at high-growth companies.
Ability and excitement to work in a fast-paced environment – this is a job that will require 60+ hours per week.
Personal interest in the company mission – to give people power over their personal data.
Extreme ownership, comfort with ambiguity and a bias towards action; you should not be someone who gets easily blocked.
Exceptional written communication skills and a strong analytical background.
A willingness to work cross-functionally and on a variety of projects, both administrative tasks and trajectory altering projects.
Prior experience working in legal/privacy or with the public sector is preferred, but not required.
Compensation
$120K - $150K in base salary plus substantial equity upside.
Benefits
Medical, dental, and vision insurance for all employees and their dependents
Monthly transit stipend
A medical FSA to cover certain out-of-pocket medical, dental, and vision expenses
Daily in-office lunches
Location
Atlas utilizes a hybrid working model, with employees typically expected to work at least 3 days/week in our New York City office (Flatiron).
This role will require travel approximately 10% of the time.
Hiring Philosophy
We prioritize autonomy, intellectual curiosity, and the drive to see things through. Our culture is built on high trust, high autonomy, relentless growth, and true ownership. We operate like a small, elite unit: we move fast, carry our own weight, solve the "unsolvable" without being asked, and act like owners.
Rapid Adaptability: We look for individuals with “rapid adaptability” - those with a demonstrated ability to master new domains quickly. We want the person who can enter a room knowing nothing about a problem and leave 48 hours later as the person most qualified to solve it.
High-Autonomy & Execution Excellence: We look for individuals who can take a vague problem, analyze the landscape, and implement a solution. We value the "last 10%" as much as the first 90%. Intellectual curiosity gets us started, but it is the drive and discipline to see things through that defines our success.
Customer-First Mindset: Our mission is more important than our individual credits. We don’t build for ourselves; we build for our customers.
Act Like an Owner: We run Atlas like we collectively own it—because we do. We pay below big-company cash in exchange for significant equity, and that only works if you operate with true ownership: you treat time and money like they’re yours, you fix problems without waiting for permission, and you make decisions that maximize long-term enterprise value.
