Position Summary:

The Client Onboarding Specialist is responsible for delivering a seamless, accurate, and timely onboarding experience for complex Commercial and Corporate Banking clients. The role serves as a primary point of contact throughout the onboarding lifecycle, coordinating commercial account opening, Treasury Management product implementation, digital banking requirements, and any required product installations and training. The role requires a strong understanding of commercial deposit products, Treasury Management solutions, digital banking capabilities, regulatory requirements, operational risk controls, and implementation dependencies.

This individual acts as a trusted onboarding partner to the client and collaborates closely with Relationship Management, Treasury Management Sales, Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Information Security, and Client Service teams. Success requires exceptional organization, strong client communication, disciplined project management, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple complex implementations within established service-level agreements.

Standard 4-day in-office requirement, 1 day remote (of your choosing and subject to manager's approval) 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

Account Opening & Client Onboarding

  • Work directly with clients and deliver a high-touch, white-glove onboarding experience of commercial accounts for sophisticated legal entity structures and complex ownerships, multiple affiliates and large account portfolios.
  • Own the end-to-end onboarding process for new and existing Commercial and Corporate Banking clients, from initial handoff through implementation, and training.
  • Coordinate onboarding engagements involving multiple legal entities, affiliates, operating accounts, controlled disbursement accounts, sub-accounts and Treasury Management services.
  • Support a wide range of clients and industry verticals. Analyze organizational charts and entity structures to identify ownership, control, authorized signer, beneficial ownership, and documentation requirements.
  • Conduct onboarding kickoff meetings to validate the client’s legal entity structure, account requirements, Treasury Management products, digital banking access, implementation sequencing, and targeted completion dates.
  • Support specialized account structures and arrangements, including deposit account control agreements, reserved or restricted accounts, sub-account structures, escrow-related arrangements, zero-balance structures, concentration accounts, and other specialized commercial deposit solutions.
  • Review account documentation for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with approved account structures and client instructions.
  • Manage multiple client onboardings simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and adherence to established service-level agreements.
  • Identify critical-path activities, implementation dependencies, missing information, and potential delays; proactively escalate issues and develop mitigation plans.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready onboarding records across applicable workflow, document management, account opening, and implementation systems.
  • Develop and maintain onboarding trackers, document checklists, and status reports.
  • Facilitate a structured transition to the appropriate servicing or relationship team following onboarding.

Treasury Management Product Onboarding

  • Possess a deep understanding of Treasury Management product configurations across payments, receivables, liquidity/sweeps, channels, reporting and digital banking.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of product configurations and explain available options, operational requirements, client responsibilities, processing timelines, transaction limits, approval controls, and service restrictions.
  • Recognize differences among payment methods and product capabilities and help clients understand which solutions best align with their workflows, control requirements, and transaction activity.
  • Communicate applicable product pricing, service fees, implementation charges, and contractual requirements in coordination with the Relationship Manager and/or Treasury Management Sales Officer.
  • Collaborate and follow through (or escalate, as the case maybe) with Digital operations team for correct and timely set-ups. Validate account-to-product mapping and coordinate commercial digital banking enrollment, company setup, user creation, role assignment, entitlements, approval authorities, transaction limits, token or authentication setup, and account access.

Product & Digital Banking Training

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of all products and online banking platform. Participate in end-to-end product and platform training to effectively support clients after onboarding.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, guide clients through setup, troubleshoot client issues and answer questions related to features and functionality.
  • Stay up to date on new features and functionality to ensure clients receive accurate and relevant information
  • Conduct virtual or in-person demonstrations covering platform navigation, administration, reporting, transaction initiation, approvals, file uploads, exception management, alerts, and security features.
  • Deliver customized product and digital banking training to individual users, administrators, operational teams, and large client groups. Tailor training based on the client’s implemented products, organizational structure, user roles, technical sophistication, and operational workflows.
  • Clearly explain product features, functionality, cutoff times, processing expectations, security controls, and client administrative responsibilities.
  • Provide clients with applicable user guides, training materials, implementation documentation, security information, and support contacts.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience 
  • Relevant experience in commercial banking, corporate banking, Treasury Management implementation, commercial account opening, deposit operations, client onboarding, or Treasury Management servicing.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Commercial or Corporate Banking clients and complex legal entity structures.
  • Working knowledge of commercial deposit accounts and Treasury Management products across payments, receivables, liquidity, fraud prevention, reporting, and digital channels.
  • Understanding of payment methods, processing requirements, product restrictions, cutoff times, transaction limits, approval controls, and fraud risks.
  • Experience reviewing organizational structures, ownership information, authorized signer arrangements, and commercial account documentation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and policy requirements applicable to commercial account opening and onboarding.
  • Strong client-facing communication, presentation, facilitation, and training skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex assignments simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple business areas and hold stakeholders accountable for deliverables.
  • Strong problem-solving, judgment, and escalation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn commercial banking, workflow, account opening, and digital banking systems.

Potential Salary: $75,000 - $105,000 annually

This salary range reflects base wages and does not include benefits, bonus, or incentive pay. Salary bands are purposefully wide ranging to encompass the different factors considered in determining where a candidate falls in the range, including but not limited to, seniority, performance, experience, education, and any other legitimate, non-discriminatory factor permitted by law. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here.
